I got into gaming seriously about 7 years ago when I started to play Runescape, this is undoubtedly the best game I have ever played, along with BOLO and age of empires. These 3 games give me the best memories thats why I think they are the best.
I played Runescape for 4 years simply because I had so much to do I was not bound to getting to level 80 in my one class, and maxing out my two professions I could truly do what I liked.
There were so many different skills: http://www.moparscapes.com/runescape_skillxp.png for me to do and they are still increasing to this day.
I also had intuative creative and different quests to do which were actually entertaining!
I am also debating on APB, Darkfall or Mortal so I would like to know your views on these games
So I ask you is there any other game like this? because I don't have a lot of hope left before I quit MMOS.
A list of games I have tried no game has yet to stick my attention.
Thank You.

Darkfall- From what I've played the game is pretty cool, everything you do you level up. Like running... Every step you take equates to experiance for the "running" skill. You will find though; you do not get the "ding" experiance like runescape, you find that everytime you progress your skills things get just a bit easier to accomplish, until to you find something more challenging. You may find that the constant switching between 3rd and 1st person views can be a bit irritating, but you learn to just accept it .
Mortal Online: I have not played this game but from what I've heard and read on these forums and other forums, tell me that this game pretty broken. not to say that you shouldn't try it Who knows? Everyone could just be a fat liar;)
APB- Its more of a third person shooter then anything else.It essentially a really, really, really awesome cops and robbers game , but alot of people tend to find the repitive gameplay well... repitive.
Playing: Ever quest 2
Played: MS,GW,EVE,LOTRO,WoW,Allods,Aion, CO,CoH,CoV,TQ Digital games, Darkfall,AoC,RS2.
Liked: Dungeon fight online, GW, Darkfall and, Runescape.
Waiting for: Link Realms(can't get my damn beta invite) KOTOR and, GW2
APB i heard is pretty unfinished and gets boring quick.. A game i didn't see on you're list was AION..
It's been my favorite MMO i've played to-date (besides EvE Online which i'am playing now) and has lots of fun pvp with the fort battles.. A little on the grind side but if you find a good legion and team up with some friends while chatting over vent it's not so bad.. I quit because after hitting 50 you're forced into getting a end-gear set that all people try and get.. It's based completeley on luck tho, so kinah buyers tend to get it a lot quicker then legit players.. or those that get lucky at it while others (like myself) spend months getting it.. Another thing is NC Soft has to be the crappiest costumer support ever; do not expect them to answer any of you're questions or actually listen to any of you're suggestions..
With that said.. It's a pretty fun game.. I poured way more hours into it then you have on any one of those games on you're list
Currently Playing:
Rift + Starcraft II + Gears Of War 3 Beta
I passed Aion because it just seemed to much like so many other games I have tried and I want more freedom.
Wow. That's a lot of games. You couldn't stay interested in a single one on that list? Maybe it's time for another hobby.
darkfall, mortal and apb are your best hopes for something truly different from the typical MMO experiences. also maybe D&DO depending on how loosely you define MMOs. its only an MMO in the city areas, everything else is instanced.
if you like 2D (gameplay, the graphics are 3D) vertically scrolling shoot 'em up games, give Valkyrie Skye a try. its also instanced in the gameplay areas, altho i don't really see how they could NOT be instanced with automatically scrolling gameplay. up to 4 players in your group.

I'd say, with a history of loving Runescape, to give Mabinogi a try. it is basically the same as Runescape in that you have many other skills to unlock and level up, and of course there is fighting monsters, but really, like it says in advertisements and on the games website, it is a virtual life that you are playing.
I'm not a fan of the mabinogi art style however, mabinogi heroes looks more my kind of art style. I'm not into Asian art.
Anyway when mabinogi heroes comes out will it be the same game concept or what?
I'm liking the look of this!!
I played Flyff for almost 3 years in our local server. Me and my girlfriend decided to quit the game, due to the economy issues, The game is not good anymore... >.<

You're able to determine in 6 hours that the biggest mmo ever (WoW) is not for you?
And how about the Saga of Ryzom? 2 hours? Ryzom has an awful lot of stuff to do. I played through 2 free trials before I decided I'd seen enough.
I see that you enjoyed a handful of games for a fairly significant length but right now there are about 5 or 6 games I would play regularly if I had time and I think all of them are on you list so - knitting maybe? Lots of stuff to do with needles.
I was pleasantly surprised when I went from Apprentice to full 5 star Elite in under 2 months. I was pleasantly surprised again when I went from Elite to just barely Hardcore in 2 weeks. Apprentice, here I come!
Biggest MMO Ever my ass. WoW is a piece of shit clone of the glory days MMO's. That is a true, well-known fact, mate.
Now which games would be up for Biggest MMO Ever (BME), that list would be pretty short, I mean, obviously Ultima Online, EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call, Runescape, and Eve Online. Beyond those, I'm not sure what other titles would be up for consideration for BME, but certainly not WoW.
Well, perhaps you misunderstood my use of the word, "biggest," by which I was simply referring to the number of paying players. I was trying to point out that with 11 million players there is obviously something worth while that you may not discover in 6 hours.
"...piece of shit clone... a true, well-known fact." Hmm... so if I went to, say, wikipedia and looked up WoW they would say "piece of shit clone" and would have documentation to back that up? I mean, not just the clone part but they could demonstrate that it is, in fact, a piece of shit? Mate?
Now I'm trying to figure out what YOU mean by "biggest." Not size of world (EVE would win that, obviously) and not content or story either. Not number of quests. Not size of population because the only ones that might rival WoW are counting non-paying subscribers. So maybe by "biggest," you mean, "best?" Ok. All of the games you listed have elements that they do a lot better than WoW. Personally, I would argue that WoW is the best game not because it does any one particular thing the best, but because it does the most amount of things very well and can appeal to the masses much better because of this. But I wouldn't be audacious enough to call my opinion a "true, well-known fact."
I was pleasantly surprised when I went from Apprentice to full 5 star Elite in under 2 months. I was pleasantly surprised again when I went from Elite to just barely Hardcore in 2 weeks. Apprentice, here I come!
I think 10 million worldwide subscribers is pretty much proof that WoW is the "BME" (lolwut?). It's the in-thing to do around here -- in every thread that goes to page two or higher someone starts hating on WoW. It's so predictable.
"WoW is easymode."
"Too on-rails."
"Shallow game with no meaningful content."
"WoW Is a clone of a clone of a clone."
"WoW ruined MMO's."
Really all I see when I read WoW hate is, "WoW is a now a more casual game that is popular therefore I have to hate it to look hardcore." We get it, WoW pissed in your cereal and stole your crayons. It's time to move on.
To the OP - You don't need to quit MMOs, just take a break. All the liekly good games are a little ways off so do what I've been doing lately - try a different genre of games. I've been enjoying learning to play RTS games and fiddling with Turn Based RPGs. It's just an idea.
Can you suggest me a good RTS, which is kinda like Age of Empires in the fact that I can build my own base. not one which are just ready set up battles in a field.
Darkfall is my favorite RTS but it takes a couple months to learn the game.

Oooh RTS's , my domain
Company of heroes: Best RTS tactic/strategy wise i know . (and excellent graphics as well). Now it doesn't have ages or such. But you do build a base have to capture territory for ressources and build your units. What makes it the best strategy wise are the concepts they implemented which lack in RTS games (or the combination of them): A good counter system , Cover (very important) , Weaker Rear Armor for Armored Vehicles and Secundary abilities and lets add to that: spamming units is a big no no , well you could try it but decent players would decimate you.

Other RTS's , well tbh being very picky i don't know any really worthwhile modern RTS's. I like Total War but that isn't with basebuilding.
I loved Empires Dawn Of the Modern World but due to an advertisement flop the devs went bankrupt and lately the gamespy servers shut down. You can always enjoy it in SP but MP is unavailible .
Rise of Nations is still on my top list as well simply because it was a good hybrid of the AoE franchise and Civ franchise. While outdated it still remains good.
But give CoH a try , its not easy to master (at all) but really worth it. And also , dont let the trailers confuse you , nono its not a shooter with mediocre graphics , it is an RTS .

If you couldnt find anything on that list to satisfy you for any serious length of time, although there is very few games you seem to have put any effort into, you REALLY need to look into doing something else or maybe take a break for a couple of months and come back. Maybe you ought to eveluate why you are playing these games and what you are looking to get from them. Perhaps the way you play them is an issue . . . "endgame rush", epeen bragging rights, etc...
Gaming since Avalon Hill was making board games.
Played SWG, EVE, Fallen Earth, LOTRO, Rift, Vanguard, WoW, SWTOR, TSW, Tera
Tried Aoc, Aion, EQII, RoM, Vindictus, Darkfail, DDO, GW, PotBS
i recently just beat dawn of war II, its an rts, but you don't build ... anything, besides upgrade your character, lol.
I'd check out dawn of war (the original), if ur into spacey stuff, its awesome!
also company of heroes, i also agree is an amazing game! i loved it, played it for months in afghanistan with my company
also starcraft II is about to be out, or is already out. so i'd look into that.
this made me giggle~ ;P
Crazy thread, this one. The OP's problem is has not put enough time into any game to realize whether it is worth keeping or not.
A bit of advice: if you are looking for a game to enjoy, first decide what catgory you prefer: sci-fi, fantasy (eastern), fantasy (western), historic, post-apocaliptic, etc.
If you like to raid against bosses pick a pve game. If you like to spar, pick a pvp-based game
Then, choose a game that came out in the last couple of years, has a good public reputation and is a big-name developer. Even possibly one of the ones you gave up on already.
Finally, play the damn thing for at least 60 -90 days, make friends, join a guild, get to max level, etc. They are called MMO for a reason - it is the people that make these games fun. If you can't find a group of people to run around with then MMO is not for you, or need therapy or anti-anxiety medication.
Just some friendly advice
Holy crap sir, your dedication to the gaming industry is unparalled! The future is bright in MMO's as fast as I can tell, many new directions will start to open up. Keep at it and let us know if one sticks!

Oh, and playing a free trial of a game does not do any game proper justice. Reading too much into your 5 day experience could result in you missing out of some future epic gaming
I see you like Age of Empires. You should try Starcraft 2 then, it should be a very popular rts game and it is coming out this month if it hasn't already I think
for you geniuses that keep telling him that if he can't find anything to his liking maybe its time for him to quit MMOs...READ THOSE LAST TWO SENTENCES A FEW TIMES.
newsflash! that's what he plans to do
...if nobody can direct him to games similar to the 3 he mentioned, or that are different from all the traditional drek. if you're not helping him with some suggestions AS HE IS REQUESTING, and all you have to say is he might as well quit MMOs, you HAVE NO POINT in spamming up the thread.
you're preaching to the choir.

I mean this very seriously and from a place of empathy....
Maybe the problem isn't with the games. I know, might sound harsh, but I'm serious. That sort of list for a bunch of non-online console games wouldn't alarm me, but with online games the list is a bit... off. Online games are often a matter of dedicating time and effort. Maybe they just aren't your cup of tea, and try as you might you're sub-concious is rejecting playing them.
Your post and behavior reminds me of times in my life when I was bored and restless (and often depressed) when I would install and play a ton of new and old games, but only play for a bit before the game just wasn't any good and I would try to find a new one. I'm saying maybe gaming isn't what you're looking for, isn't what's going to keep you interested and fullfilled as a person.
I mean, if you had a list of books like that where you only ever read a fourth or a half of the book, and were 'desperate' to find a book worth reading, I would probably suggest you find something else to do. There's nothing wrong with not gaming (seriously, it's probably a good thing not to, hah). You're not coming close to meeting the potential time most of those games can offere in entertainment, and to me that's something to take note of the same way as someone that jumps from job to job or relationship to relationship. Maybe take a break, don't play any games, see if another hobby can't keep your interest and fill that spot in your life you seem desperately trying to fill. And my point isn't to say 'durr, just quit' but to let you know it's perfectly okay to do so! You don't NEED a game to play as I'm sure there are plenty of other things you can do.
And good luck finding a game, or whatever it is you're looking for.
I will say that I doubt Mortal Online will be good. It gives a milion and one reasons for people to NOT keep playing, so if you're already predisposed to game-hop you might want to just save the time and money.
According to a Facebook quiz, I'm a genius.
