Hardcore gamer LF....

GeldchefGeldchef Member UncommonPosts: 7

So basicly I'm a hardcore gamer, i can play about 80h eatch week (more or less depanding on how much the game  hook me up) and im looking for a good F2P whit a cash shop that wont make someone OP or that I dont need to buy enything to enjoy playing the game. And at the same time I'm looking for people to play whit and/or a guild. I like pvp/pve/raids and i dont mind grinds or quests.

Making an MMO is like doing cooking, not too much of salt, a main dish not too complex but that got its own style, you should be able to add or change the topping(whit out removing the actual taste), have lots and lots of side dish and you always want more when you finish to eat for the day.

    80h...holy shit dude.

I'd say take a look at Guild wars (gotta buy the boxed game but after that its 100% f2p)

Dungeons and Dragons online (Very good game, was P2P and is now F2P)

Lotro (not yet f2p but it will be).  This one is most likely your best bet as far as solid raiding/grouping goes (though only towards the end of the game).

Aside from that all the other f2p game are fairly weak in many/all of the aspects your looking for.

I'd seriously consider Guild wars though as there is so much content to enjoy and the PVP is awesome.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

I'm loving every minute of the stateside version of Dungeon Fighter Online, but if you don't live in the continental US, Canada or Hawaii, I don't think you can play. You'd have to learn Korean or Japanese.

You don't need CS avatar items, but it will drive you crazy looking the same as every other noob out there, but you can buy some in end-game levels when you make a lot of in-game scrilla to buy them off other players. You don't need them to compete in PvP so much early on, but you will at the end, where everyone's got the best.

For Guild Wars, i realy dont want to spend money for now because im keeping it for one of the game that gona come out before the end of the year. Even if it looked like i would of stay on it for a while.

Already tryed DaDO, but this game rock if you have a team whit you prety much from the start and they all enjoy that type of game. And it was a let down because i dint have one and no one in the guild i was on was hardcore like me (actualy im use to it by now and its realy rare that I do find people like me).

Look into LOTRO and seem like a good game and when its gona go F2P im gona go and check it out but aparently the F2P part is going to be lacking alot of stuf, quest, pvp has the bad guys, 1 character per account and missing classes. But you can get point to unlock stuff while you play and its stil on close beta so il see when it come out and try it.

Well im not into Castle Vania super nintendo style game, so ty but il pass on Wonderking.

Dungeon Fighter Online is not realy my style of game (has of now) even if I did like them when I was young (super nintendo my first true love) so again ty but il pass.

Ty for tryign to help me you guys, aparently im a bit picky.

It's actually a terrific strategy to get people to use the cash shop.

Anyway if you don't mind cute WoW like graphics and cute music I would recommend N.E.O online from OGplanet, if not I would recommend Allods, Runes of Magic, or Atlantica (The latter only if you don't mind turn based combat) . If you just want some good match based pvp try league of legends. Martial Empires was a ton of fun to me (like aion but funner) but they are going to IP ban north america after open beta QQ.

I wish that I had 80h a week for gaming . .. not sure I would want 80h to play F2P games though.

Hell if I had that much time than I would pick up every trial and then end up going with whatever is funnest, F2P or P2P.

Fileplanet has beta keys for Lotor right now. You get 1000 Turbine points to spend in the store. If you have paid sub to Fileplanet you get 5000 Turbine points. (or just get a sub for one month at $6.95 and get the 5000 points) So you could play the beta for right now and use the points to open stuff up. Good Luck!

N.E.O Online look ok for a F2P, watched a few video on youtube about it and im not realy into that. Plus everyone look like they had all the same skill at the end, those that mean there like a perfect build for pvp and they juste copy it?

Already did play Allods, Runes of Magic and Atlantica, they all good game but I got feed up whit them. Allods when high level whit a priest, then the expention came out 1.1.0 and the game turned into a pay some or your gear going to hell pal. Played Rune of Magic at the first day of the open beta and me and a friend was waiting for the pvp content but it got push back and it never came while we where playing, so we got bored and tryed something else. Eatch time I try to play that game I dont know why I just get sick and get feed up whit it extremely fast. For Atlantica the game was fun look nice but the turn base killed the living crap out of me, its fun and all but just waiting to press a buttom there and here just make me want to sleep.

Well Sid_Vicious I did that a bit but alot of the P2P out there id like to see it F2P before il play on them for one or several reason, mostly because I dont want to play for a game right now. There good title and/or game that are comming soon so im waiting and it could take a while and because i got alot of free time i want to burn it out on a F2P.

Ezjay1975, yeah gona keep an eye on that bad boy for now or until something else get my entention. But if i do get a sub for file planet and get the 5000 point, are they only good for the beta or are they good for after it also? Not much sense getting sub just for few points that are gona get deleted.

Again ty for helping me trying to find a good game for me, its getting hard and harder eatch time.

Thinking about it and im prety sure im at the point where i did try every F2P out there so far, that i can try ofc. And I'm now concidering P2P game, because there nothing there for me that I dint already suck the juice out of it. So right now im trying the EQ2 14 day trial, gona check that bad boy but I would like to stil know what you guys think would be beter for me.

If you have lots of time you could try Horizons (or Chronicles of Istaria, dunno what exactly it's called these days). Leveling seemed to take forever at least from my perspective. There seems to be a lot to do in Vanguard, too.

I've been thinking about trying Perfect World, it looks amazing, and has a huge play base...have you tried that and if so, what are your thoughts?  It is F2P.

Not MMO but League of Legends. I just bought like 6 games from steam sales and still I find myself playind LoL alot... it just gets better the more I play it, actually better than many p2ps other there.

EDIT: also it's 100% PvP but you'll find people to play with easily if you're good

  • PyrostasisPyrostasis Member UncommonPosts: 2,293

League of Legends is a great game, not quite an mmo but with the new ranked ladder system is very competitive.

Another option is online poker its pvp but when you kill someone you take their money =)

Thats the two things I've been playing the hell out of this summer while waiting on something worth while to release.
