eGenesis has announced that A Tale in the Desert V will officially launch on August 7, 2010. The fifth version of the game will feature new systems as well as welcome back one golden oldie.
According to developers, a new and robust fishing system is on its way as well as an improved mining system. The new player experience has been reworked for ATitD V and the mentoring system, not seen since version one, will be making a comeback.
In addition, several player created tests will update some of the older tests and players will have the opportunity to own their own cats.
Fishing will now involve the catching of insects, done through a variety of everyday activities in the game. Some insects will be very rare and result in catching rare fish. In addition, fish will now have to be processed to produce meat and a variety of other resources, including colorful scales.

I played back when A Tale in the Desert II was just about to start (beta while Tale I was free)... I remember really liking it. But, I also can't imagine going back to it right now.
I'm always vaguely interested in ATitD, but I've never made it as far as actually playing. I like the concept, but when I start reading up on it I get bogged down in all the grindy details. Maybe I should move past that and give it a try anyway to form a more informed opinion, but there's only so much free time and too many things to fill that free time with.
I've played every "Version" of ATITD excluding tale 2 and it gets better as it goes. The Small tight knit community is one of the driving forces that brings me back time and time again...
If you want to play an MMO where you actually "matter". ATITD is your game...
Plus, no one can argue with the 24 PLAYABLE hours as a trial. Seriously, if you're on the fence about this game, download it and give this game the attention it deserves....
hmm
nothing about a graphics upgrade
pity
graphics aren't everthing sorry to tell you that. it's about the story line and crafting and makeing friends.
