So can the psp play mp3s? If it does I would consider buying one. I need an mp3 player.

I think Sony is backing-off their display guarentee. If any of the pixels go bad they are going to refuse to replace. They are only going to honour actual mechanical defects (keyboard) and ignore expected problems with display. Beter read the fine print and make sure to get an actual hard copy of guarentee.

I've read the technical specs. and I see nothing that makes it worth what they're
charging for it. Sony, in typical fashion is putting the screws to consumers by over-
charging for new products and again shafting unsuspecting suckers into shelling out
    more money for accessories.

I remember when the D50 first hit the market. What a gem that was. The world's
first portable CD player. The only problem was it wasn't portable unless you forked
over an additional $50 for the battery pack.

One other thing that occurs to me. How durable is this thing anyways?
I'll just bet that stores will be flooded with returns on this system in the first 6 weeks.

Thanks Digity. Right now I only have the 32 MB memory stick, but I can still probably fit the Star Wars trailer in there, or maybe a music video.

Did you get a larger memory stick by the way?

I need that. But I bet their expensive, and I just invested around 400 dollars in my psp and games already so the memory stick fund will be on hiatus for a while.

Yesterday my Best Buy still had them in stock. If I had the money I would have bought a second one and put it up on Ebay for more money.

Quick question: How much space does it have for MP3's?

Depends on what kind of memory stick you get. The memory stick in the value pack is only 32MB (probably holds up only 4 to 5 songs) and then it goes all the way up to 2 gigs depending on what one you buy.

If you are getting the PSP just for MP3's I would not reccomend it at all. It's big and delicate, so if your doing sports or something while listening to music on your psp it's not the best idea.

No, I'm not getting it just for MP3's, but it is definately a side bonus to getting it, as I don't have an iPod yet (never felt the need to have so much music portable).

To play games with people around the world you have to setup your network connection first (sounds hard, but it's rediculously easy). You have to find a wireless access point (wireless router) to connect to, it doesn't have to be your own. If you don't know the information for your router, you just click the "Scan" button on the PSP and it will search for the wireless action point, giving the signal strength of the point, the IP, Default Gateway, and even tell if your SSID Is on default (If it is, change it).

As far as I know, alot of games are "Making use" of the wireless internet but most of them aren't up and running yet. I know for Wipeout Pure it's not up yet, but I hear that Twisted Metal is working already.

This thing sounds pretty cool....but i dont quite know what it is.  Anyone mind telling me all its specs and all the super cool stuff it can do?  Is it like a handheld cross between ps2, tv, dvd/mp3 players and a gameboy/pc system?  Im so confused, help me!

    thats about right lol

So...what is it compatible with?  Do i need to buy special movie and games for it, or can i pop a dvd or ps2 game inside it and play that?  If not, then im wayyyyy to poor to get one of those if they cost 250$ for just the system, then extra for every game/movie/song you want.
  • rathmarathma Member UncommonPosts: 3,786

You buy special movies and games on these UMD disks. But if you have a big memory card you can just download the movies and music to your psp and not have to use a UMD.

Has anyone played Untold Legends? I hear its alot like Champions of Norrath so anyone whos played it could you make a comparison? Also, how does THUG 2 compare to the PS2 version? Im thinking about getting one soon and I need something to play ::::28:: Ill probably pick one of those two, depending how much money im going to be spending. I loved THUG and CoN was fun for awhile, I suppose its going to be the multiplayer which will make me decide
