In addition, 2-player teams can compete in a heroes vs villains tournament for a boatload of prizes including the inclusion of their characters in the game on its release.

I think I'll pass on Sidekicks online.... no one wants to play Robin or Krypto. We want to BE THE HERO, not the sidekick no one remembers.

When in doubt, get more explosives.

yeah because robin didnot become a star in the dc universe and krypto really? That is wow lots of heroes don't start as heroes you might want to chek a little more in to the game before you make assumptions like that

    God loves you I dont

How is this any different than say CO or COH in regards to interaction with the NPC heroes? Is it because you could ask a kid in pre-school kid who Superman is and get an answer? I just don't see this arguement being reasonable.

Every hero game so far has you starting somewhere to build your noterity as a hero (or infamy as a villain)  to become like Superman, thats the point! After all with a super hero/villain you are already the badass so  you gotta work for something!

Then I would guess you don't like the idea of super hero mmo's because you simply can't have an mmo where a player is being batman, superman, green lantern.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

Wish I could get to Comic Con for a lot of reasons, but a pvp tourny?! Now I'm really bummed.

DC isn't exactly my favorite publisher, but I really like Batman comics set in his own Gotham. I think the game is shaping up nicely as a hybrid and should be one of the truer tests if action gaming has a place dominated by psuedorpg elements.

I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.

This is an MMORPG, not a single player game where you are THE hero. Imagine how it would be like if there was 1000 Batman running around. Yeah, pretty stupid.

A lot of the demos and presentations have highlighted just how much of a role the named characters take direct part in the players actions.  Fighting along side superman to defeat lex luthor for example.

I can see where people get the impression that they are playing the role of sidekick to the popular DC characters in the game.  Fighting against the named characters sounds cool, but having the named characters fighting in your missions feels sort of anticlimactic.

The game looks like a lot of fun. Ive been wondering what an MMO on the PS3 would be like so this may be something  I have to try.

WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.
