TERA has my vote. I really do hope it will hold me for atleast a few months and that the Westernization team really pulls through with changing the aspects to better suit my/our needs!

  • HedeonHedeon Member UncommonPosts: 997

wanted to vote on several of those :

well chances are FFXIV will be able to be my new love and never get on to guild wars 2 - playing more than 1 MMO and I believe you dont get the full out of a MMO, so wont be doing that even if GW2 aint got a subscription.

Yo guys, Long time lurker, first time poster :). Im gonna have to go with gw2 here, even though theres a few promising looking games coming out in the near feature, I keep getting drawn back to the guild wars 2 website hoping they have released some new info :), every feature there putting into gw2 has me frothing at the mouth.

Tbh i'm sceptical about any of the mentioned MMO's, i'll most likely give FFXIV and SWTOR a try and also cataclysm depending on what people say about it and if blizzard tries to push the Real ID concept any further .

I voted for Cataclysm simply because , well , it's the only game about which i kinda know what to expect . Never really played SWG , GW or FF MMO and still wondering how the Tera combat system will be like precisely (tho it will have to be reaaaaaally good to get me as i don't like their art style)

I went with SWToR, but Vidicus and Tera, are on my list as well..   I used to have Jumpgate on there, but after the actions of the forums, I've scratched them off..

    GW2

    I need more vespene gas.

  • mrw0lfmrw0lf Member Posts: 2,269

Out of those listed can't say I'm overly interested in any, but will probably give SW a try if only for a short while, I enjoy BW single players and hope I can get at least that much entertainment from the mmo.

It will be interesting to see how GW2 is received but I didn't like the first one and until it's released I can only really go on that given that much of the info I bothered to hear so far doesn't sell it to me. Tera for some reason doesn't appeal to me, probably the graphics in all honesty but again I will keep an eye on release reviews.

There are also a other games I'm looking at such tsw but that looks a way aways still, but then sop do quite a few on the list. Having fun in APB atm so not in a hurry to find anything soon.

Actually I'm not looking forward to any of the mentioned titles really.

Anything level-based is not being worth it imho, as you're playing through the story, hit level-cap and then look at endgame-content that get's boring very fast.

Earthrise would be the only MMO at the moment that seems interesting enough for the next few years, as it offers the same kind of playerdriven content like SWG preNGE or EvE Online.

GW2 stole my vote. I have been waiting it so long that the game must be good!

  • lornphoenixlornphoenix Member Posts: 993

Short term: FFXIV because it's coming out 2 months

Long term: Tera for it's combat and GW2 for the DES

Right now the one I want to play most is Tera.

Problem is I don't know which one is going to the next big thing for me...

You know something I stick with more than 2-3 months would but my next big thing.

all of them could fail at that...

Unfortunately, for me it's Cataclysm. WotLK was pretty amazing, especially for soloing, and Cataclysm will add to that. As for grouping Blizzard really does know best when it comes to balance so I know Cataclysm is the game almost guaranteed to not be an exercise in frustration even if I am finding WoW to be a bit dull these days. At least Cataclysm will be a solid expansion with shiny new toys for me to play with.

I am interested in GW2, though a free trial would probably be needed before I buy the game. I am following Tera and Vindictus with interest. I'll finally be trying out LotRO when the free launch hits so I'm looking forward to that.

I won't be buying FFXIV because I don't buy games much anymore. Too much wasted money on games I don't play. Again, if it has a free trial I'd definitely take a look.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went from Apprentice to full 5 star Elite in under 2 months. I was pleasantly surprised again when I went from Elite to just barely Hardcore in 2 weeks. Apprentice, here I come!

    RIFT hands down

  • arcdevilarcdevil Member Posts: 864

GW2 then WAR40k. The rest of upcoming games leave me cold, specially that grindy soulless asian bullshits with a lot of eyecandy...

I'll be getting Cataclysm but once TOR comes out, WoW will fall to the wayside and if TOR ends up being as enjoyable as we hope, WoW won't see the light of day in my household for a very long time. :P

I'm looking forward to a game that has the following:

    > Smooth animations.

    >A plethora of emotes.

    >Designated server styles:  rp  pve  pvp

    >Detailed crafting that is a viable part of the game's gear.   Toss in a random aspect;  luck perhaps to avoid "cookie cutter" gear.

    >Ability to make armor of different colors

    >Regional styling to armors.  Same basic specs, but different appearance.

    >A monitored game.   Stop the asshat playerbase before it even happens.

    >A game that doesnt' cater to the "I want win now" crowd.   I expect to hit level cap close to a year

    >Content before appearance.  I could care less if trees move from a breeze.

    >An organized UI.

    >A chat system that isn't all in one box.  I hate scrolling to see what the person standing next to me said.

    >Gear repair system.   I made it, I should be able to repair it.

    >Gear upgrade.  I made it , I can make it better.

    >A game that has no resemblence to Manga.

    >Subscription based.  You say C-shop (an attempt to make it less evil?) and I won't even look at screenshots.

    >Many classes with some being rp only.   Bards for example.  Bartenders.  Stablemasters...etc...

THIS is the game I'm waiting for.

Sadly, I don't think I'll ever see it.

Cataclysm, GW2, TOR.  In that order...

I am currently playing in the World of Tanks beta. Its tons of fun.  The game runs smooth on my system. q6600 4 gig or ram and a Nvidia 275 Vid card.  Video setting are on High and I get over 80 fps.  From where I sit on the east coast  there is very little lag, no disconnects in battle like some new games or rubberbanding. Over all it is a very polished game at this point

I'm trying not to sound like an fanboy but to me driving around a metal monster is fun.

Its a first person shooter. Battles take about 5-15 minutes. Each battle can have have a max of 15 players per side. The game is fast pace but doesn't seem so fast that my 48 year old reflexes can't compete with all the younger players that grew up playingx-box and playstation games.

I was looking forward to FFXIV and TERA.  According to their benchmark program my computer is nowhere near good enough for FFXIV.  Kind of went off the idea of TERA when I discovered who the EU publisher's are to be.

    GW2

    SW:TOR

  • NephaeriusNephaerius Member UncommonPosts: 1,671

GW2 easily got my vote.  Been waiting on that game since 2006.

    Steam: Neph

  • RohnRohn Member UncommonPosts: 3,730

Of the ones you listed Copernicus gets my vote.  Though no one knows much about it, the people involved are enough to garner interest.

Tera: The Exiled Realm of Arborea, Rift: Planes of Telara and Blade & Soul.

I think it's stupid to play 3 or even 2 MMORPGS at once especially while paying sub so i will be picking which one I'll be playing from the 2 classes I like most (Dual Wielder teh epic fast ass class with average str and maybe DoT spells, a spellcaster that deals with DoT, i.e spells that posions and so on.)

So far I'm loving the look of the RIFT Warlock and the Warrior from TERA.

Regardless of what I said I might end up getting B&S no matter what, so I guess you could say It's between TERA and RIFT.

I don't particually like the double wielders on RIFT so far and the don't like casters on TERA either....I need more info on them.

    Hard choice is hard.

"We got rid of the trinity." How'd you do that? "Now everyone can heal." Sounds like you just took the mechanic and spread it thin. "Well no, there's one class that can do it better than others." I see, so they're healers. "No. They're.." -mind asplode-
