I saw the patch had a pretty extensive power change built in, and I was wondering how the changes were?
Particularly melee in general, it used to be pretty weak, but the patch seemed to throw in some new mechanics, is it better?
Also, there were some particularly nasty powers (especially at low levels) such as regen and teleport. These didn't seem to get much of an alteration to better fit their late game balance.
I guess, I'm looking for someone who has played since the adventure pack to give a 10 second thought on power balance since the patch.
Thanks

The changes are being generally well accepted, especially the melee ones.
The energy builder chances, have speeded the combat for the desired powersets. Although some were moaning that they now needed to spend points in them. Personally post level 32'ish I find I'm just adding "fluff" to a character, so aren't party with that group.
The passive powers have also been rebalanced. So regen isn't the must have anymore. In fact you can quite happly play without a defensive passive now, so there's more diverse builds around.
To be honest, they've done a pretty good job with the rebalancing (over all).
I just recently resubbed. I quit before because unarmed hit like wet noodles.
Besides that, the game was always fun for me, so I decided to give it another go and just create a different framework. But I did also create a new unarmed champion and it was markedly different than the first go around. I did do a couple of things differently this time around, so I'll have to dust off my original unarmed champ to be sure, but, it does feel improved.
Still takes a bit more time to take a mob down than other frameworks. My power armor guy just burns through mobs in no time.

My clan recently decided to give the another another go, and there has been an overwhelmingly positive response. Quite a few members have resubbed and our Supergroup is pretty active. The game seems much improved and now that Cryptic isn't throwing all of its devs at STO, there seems to be a lot more dev involvement in the game.
I really like what they did to melee. I tried to play at launch and was consistently crushed. With the changes they made to melee I can hold my own now, and often find myself surpassing my ranged toons in terms of dmg/survivability/fun
Put it this way...there are now threads on the official forums claiming melee is overpowered. You really can't win as a dev.

Yeah, I agree. I dusted off my original UA toon last night and played for a while. He survives a lot better and seems to have much better damage output. I also noticed every NPC I was fighting would run across the map while I was charging up Dragon Kick.
Another thing I noticed, however, is it seems they changed it so that he automatically targets any NPC attacking him and automatically starts the energy builder (Righteous Fists). It was kind of awkward because I kept trying to toggle RF on, but was really toggling it off because it was already on. Is this a recent change? I don't remember it working this way originally. I'm not sure I'm a fan of it either.
Not game breaking or a rage quit issue, but it will take some getting used to.

Strange. I dont ever seem to auto attack like that. I wonder if there is an option.

Been a long time since I played the game, but last I did, they had options to auto attack, not auto attack or toggle.
Thanks. I'll have to look for an option to turn it off when I log in tonight.
