Taking the Plunge - Guilds?

So im finally buying MO, i played beta and i was very mixed. Regardless of people's opinions of this game I think the only true way to find out is to play.
MMO's succeed based on their community, so I was hoping to find a good active guild of people =] anyone out there? help a noob have some fun will ya?

There are many major guilds still playing the game, yes its true quiet a few have left due to the first free month being over. However because you're playing you'll know the world is still populated nicely.

Sorry I can't help you on the guild search since I primarily solo, but the link provided by thorpe is a good starting place.
Depending on your desired playstyle, the thread that Thorppes gave lists a lot of guilds that describe their planned focus in-game. They range from hardcore PvP, to casual, to crafting.
Give that a look.
