Looking for a PVP-centered game better than Darkfall

azuralkaneazuralkane Member Posts: 2

Hi all,

I'm an old UO player and I'm looking for a halfway modern game that's better than Darkfall. I've tried DF but I just can't get into it, it's way too slow paced to get anywhere on a limited playtime schedule.

Anyone have any suggestions? Not really up on what's popular these days :)

really? In my opinion and a lot of my guildmates opinion, Agon is a bit small.

Mortal Online is the other sandbox and they have a flagging system similiar to UO, plus some other stuff. In comparision to Darkfall they have a skillcap and a much smaller world. Mortal Online has much potential, but you better read up before you decide to play the game. I stopped playing 1 month after release and I am waiting till they have fixed more bugs and added more content. But MO will give you PvP, just leave town and you will meet people who wish to kill you.

You could try Mount & Blade Warband, it has a multiplayer. However I know nobody who is playing it.

    thanks, I'll look into MO

honestly I think the lack of a skillcap in Darkfall Online is one thing that really hurts it, it's an endless grind and fairly unbalanced especially for small groups and soloers

There are two types of people: those who know nothing of DF and those who got tired of the latters... Me got tired...

Mortal ONline is pretty much main option instead of Darkfall. Both are geared towards a more hard core audiance.

YOu could also consider  Warhammer as it is casual friendly. HOwever, I find that  those who enjoy the true 'fear' of open PvP (from DF and MO) tend to frown at games where the PvP is more controled (Warhammer).

FFA PVP with full-loot equals perma-grind because you have to work for stuff and everything that you 'have' can be lost to another player besides your skills/stats.

Darkfall is the funnest one of them all though as you will soon find out.

I am a casual player who hates to grind as well but luckily I have fun in Darkfall because I am not being 'forced' to do anything and when I get bored with something I can move onto to something else so it keeps me very entertained. I love Darkfall's grind because to me it doesn't feel like a grind at all. It is not like being stuck on a quest-chain or having to camp mobs in a limited instance.

I also roll solo usually. Fighting while outnumbered is funner but I end up having to replace my stuff a lot . ..

I played both MO and DF briefly, and even with all the issues present, MO is still much better at it's core than DF. If that game worked as intended I would probably be playing it right now.

    Why?

It takes a couple months to learn DF combat . .. not sure if you knew that but you are not going to experience much of it in just a month or whatever. There is no way in hell that I would ever compare MO's combat . ... to Darkfall's.

Not everyone likes the super-jumping, bunny-hopping, zig-zag sprint, etc. but it is faster paced and more challenging than any other MMO that I have found. There are not enough keys on the keyboard to bind all of the spells in the game.

The UI/controls do require tweaking though.

M&B Warband is an excellent game, however it isn't an MMO (although it has persistant world servers, which are more like persistant deathmatches), but it has great combat and online play, it's also more of an action game online because there is no character progression besides getting more money to buy better equiptment, I currently play it and love it, it's a great game to kill time until a good MMO comes out.

I will reccomend the most addictive, fun, and PVP oriented game i know of :D

Leage of Legends.  (and btw, yes its free but everything can be earned in-game so buying things gives players no advantage :D)

This game will seriously make you quit MMORPG's. (this game is a MOBA)
