Waited forever for Conan to make it to xbox, and that promise went unkept.  Let's see if this one gets there.  I won't hold my breath.

lol funcom isnt the only one to say console hehe

champions online had similar stories and APB's console efforts are on the backburner I think it has alot to do with the cooperation between sony and microsoft before you see an mmo on consoles

Microsoft will not allow the 360 to connect to another console (i.e. PS3) which is why FFXIV is not coming to the 360. This means that an mmorpg producer has to conmbat not only an added £5 XBL fee but also the problem with not reaching all of the market. Once FFXIV is released and if it does well in the subscriptions department then I'm sure a lot more developers will venture into this. The problem still remains that 360 and PS3 will never be allowed t oconnect to each other therefore you will need both consoles to try different MMORPGS.

I don't think it is even de the Sony/Microsoft as much as the developers themselves.

How much memory does Champions Online take? More then 512mb main memory and then some video memory as well. But console have only got 512mb in total. So how are you going to fit it in there?

It reminds me of the old rumor that Star Wars Galaxies was coming to the PS2. A PC game that only ran smoothly with 2gb of memory going on a 32mb console? That is like fitting an American woman in a Japanese outfit. Not going to fit.

And TSW is using the engine of Age of Conan, another memory hungry beast. 4gb wasn't even enough. Add 1gb for the video and you got 10 times the memory of a console.

What I do fear is that the MMO's that are developed for consoles tend to simplify the controls and make for simpler games. AoC with its lack of unique skills. Champions Online with its one button attack working on almost everything. And The Secret World is going to be limited to 7 active powers... Could work, Guild Wars did something similar but could also provide us with a game that is far to simple to have long lasting appeal.

Oh well, we shall see. In a year or more...

I'd like to think that the first thing to worry about, considering Funcom's horrible track record is will it even be complete and working once it launches on PC...forget a console for now!  After the debicle with AoC, the last thing they needed to do was say, "well now that we're done screwing you all over with AoC and taking your money, forget focusing on that one, lets make a new MMO already!"  rofl

They are actually STILL planning to port AoC to x-box, So there is still a chance they will keep there promise :D

I doubt it will come to 360, be it due to console limitations or the need of a XBL sub. I'd personally rather get it for PC just for the extra monthly cost. If it was being planned for PS3 I think there'd be a greater chance of us seeing it; I'd probably actually get a console version if it came out for PS3 :)

They have already said that PC comes first for TSW, then maybe console if it does good work on PC markets. So, its a shot in the dark for now I guess.

In other words, all console related developement for TSW is on ice for now.

i think its the fact that MMO's just dont do great or even good at all on 360 or even ps3 for that matter....these new console's cater to what the young kiddies want..wich is either halo type games or anything close to COD ...and when i mean cater to the kiddies i dont mean that in a bad way for console's because its what they did back in the day when we were kiddies..its just when PS came out it had a huge collection of RPG type games..more than any others and more directed to kids that were growing with the times...now its all about the almighty buck..if its not a sports game or a shooter...no console is really interested..but when DC online and ff14 drops on PS3 maybe it will start raiseing some eyebrows **fingers crossed**
