Greetings Daevas,Due to technical complications occurring during the first execution of character transfers today, we have unfortunately found ourselves in a position where we need to further postpone the transfers until a solution is found. The issues did not appear in prior testing and have forced us to go back and perform careful investigations. We decided putting character transfers on hold would be a much more preferable option than having to face the risk of corrupting character information.
We will continue to do our outermost to ensure an as good character transfer experience as possible, and will announce further details as soon as they become available to us.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I predict... lots of /ragequit.
Customers don't care about your technical difficulties.
EDIT: didn't like the old pic. This one was funnier.

Customers don't care and refuse to comprehend or understand any forced and unavoidable difficulties encountered related to their selfish enjoyment of the product they payed for.

Yep.
Check out THIS guy when the repairman told him he couldn't fix his air-con unit two days ago.
Fix AC or else: Orefield man pulls gun on air-conditioning repairman, police say
People can get unbalanced if they can't get what they want WHEN they want it. Especially if they are paying and feel they have a right to... something.
But looking at this, NCsoft did fail their customers. It's not like this is their first mmo so not sure why they couldn't foresee this.

I guess we'll never know what exactly happened, and I won't speculate on anything since I have no idea what could have technically gone wrong, and how they plan to fix this.
Maybe they really did screw their customers up, but they are doing good things as well. Sadly though it's just the bad things, the negative things that are focused on by the customers. If that repairman would have repaired the AC the same second, chances are everything would have gone unoticed, that crazy dude would have payed the exact amount, possibly even haggled and argued to pay it on account without even tipping anything.
IMO NCwest (like a lot of other companies out there) don't deserve the severity of the complaints, and most of the times they don't even get credit when it is due. Sure there are still a few sensible, understanding and "fair" customers, but sadly the majority isn't. People are over-critical.
One thing is for sure: NCwest didn't do it on purpose, they obviously didn't want to screw their customers up willingly. It's unfortunate that it happened, for them and for the customers, but it did and personally I'd rather accept it as a mistake and move on rather than complain rabidly about it.
Yep, I'm kind of glad that NCSoft banned my account now. I don't like abunch of drama like this. Seems like they should get their acts together.
that pic rules. Something i might do....
most of the population is just biding time till the expansion in september anyways.... personally my g/f and my account are only active cause they are giving out rewards for only having one race at a time on the servers. so i pay for 2 months and just let my characters sit until the expansion.
Char transfers are happening tomorrow morning. People who /ragequit due to this (if any) are probably feeling stupid right now.
Good to know for those looking for transfers, turns out it's just a really minor blip.
Was a good move by NCSoft.
Testing can only go so far especially on something like transfering a character and especially on mass transfers so much can go wrong and it was good NC spotted it reverted any changes and announced it.
How pissed would you be if your character data was corrupt because they went ahead anyway.
MMO DB's store billions of lines of data and pulling a specific character, historical data and items etc is not a walk in the park now x that DB query by 1000s of players across multiple servers and it isnt hard for things to go wrong somewhere.
If they have given out free time to compensate for the error on their end, maybe people wouldn't be upset.
Heck, its not like Aion is all that much fun to play, they did their playerbase a favor by giving them a short break.

don't know why, you still can play the game normally, no down time for it, and pretty much almost all who are transfering is fleeing because they are scared of pvp,
@Kyleran haters gonna hate
I'm under the impression this is part of the server mergers? If not, then ignore what I said.
I played Aion for the first 7 months following launch and this is no surprise. This game is full of delays, delays, and more delays. It took 8 months plus just to get a decent patch. Maybe I'll come back and check the game out again in the future, but for now i say good riddance.

oh breaking news guys they will launch things first in korea then to NA/EU, and since they will translate ot english first then to german/french you can see how much time it can take plus some changes and some tests (then some people swear are not needed).
also if you don't like the game you just play another game,
The reason I left Aion wasn't at all due to NCSoft's support. I think they did a great job on everything except for the initial botting issue.
The reason I quit playing is becuse it was the worst community of complaining, whining, and destructive individuals I've ever seen. I mean look at that restaurant pic. Really? Who would do that to some poor soul and make them clean up after their .ragequit?
Maybe the server was in the back learning her spouse was diagnosed with a terminal cancer and couldn't quit crying.
No patience, no understanding, no moral throughput. That's the de-evolution of society on par with idiocracy. Punks that agree with stuff like that should go drink their Brawndo and tune in to ow-my-balls. It's bad enough people are that ignorant, pushing it onto everyone around you is negative entropy.

well that is almost what happens in any pvp faction vs faction game, though in EU areas they try to be more civil, in NA they just like to hear they own voice and think they opnions really matter or everyone else care what they want/think and/or say.
not everyone is like that but they sure are loud and annoying
meh PA no biggie.
If that had been Texas I'd understtand. Our AC went out last week and the temperature up stairs was between 120 - 140 degrees. I'd a pulled a gun too.

Free Character Transfers Rescheduled
Greetings Daevas,
Following the recent Aion server merges, we wanted to offer a free character transfer service to give everyone a chance to play with friends located on different servers. One of our responsibilities is to provide balanced servers for you to play on. To work towards a more enjoyable play
experience we’ve decided to suspend character transfers in order to re-evaluate our strategy for server balance. Once we’ve finalized our
new strategy, we will again re-enable free server transfers, however with certain limitations to prevent an excessive amount of transfers
that specifically contributed to server imbalance.
Because of our decision to suspend transfers, we will be issuing the first wave of Fight on the Right Side rewards to all active players, regardless of race conflict status.
Race balance is something that we take extremely seriously and we are committed to creating an exciting environment for all of you to enjoy.
We’ve been listening to your suggestions in the forums and are considering all options available to us in order to achieve consistency in race balance across all servers. Please bear with us as we continue our work to address your concerns.

You put your whole self out,
You put your whole self in
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey Pokey
And you turn yourself around,
That's what it's all about.
