The Darkfall community liason, Laenih, has created a new post on the official forums. The thread covers the upcoming changes to the monster AI. Monsters in Agon have the same skills available to them that players have but there are big changes in store. Monsters will be given new skills that are unique to their type.
The Gorra Dar and the Gorra Slaves: These two monster types are a fresh addition ready to wreak havoc on Agon and have the unique ability of retreating underground at will. This team of monsters will also engage together, with the Gorra Slaves operating as scouts. These bugs will dig out of the ground to attack players. Sooner or later you might get unlucky (or lucky depending on the situation) enough to attract the attention of the Gorra Dar itself. This subterranean creature relies on sound to find its victims which means you'll need to walk silently to avoid having them burst out of the ground right under your nose.

WooooT! cant wait for the new expansion!

Yes and probably will be much longer then any game created and supported by a huge developer/publisher. Those guys don't need huge profits to actually carry on with a game. Who knows maybe one day it actually will become a sandbox.
awesome video

lol yea ok with a game with 1 NA server and 1 EU server with both low population??.... yea ok this expansion is weak wtf fun warhulfs? lol come on..... i know everyone first name and last name HAHAHA
fun hulks is just some stupid thing they decided to add, that doesn't mean the expansion will suck. The population is currently low but i beleive that will change in the near future, and for the rest of your post i don't know what the hell your talking about because you type like your 6 years old.
It's actually a pretty good old school type MMO, just needs a population surge. Wish they would merge into one global server.
Reminds me a lot of how EvE was back in the early days with a low pop but a great core game.
Im thinking they need NPC activity in the little towns. Maybe, and Im reaching, maybe a little voiceovers
To the caterpillar it is the end of the world, to the master, it is a butterfly.
Voiceovers would be cool. I don't know about the technical limitations they would face in actually implementing it, but I'm sure they could get some of their fans to do voice work for NPCs.
What I'd like to see in the game is random events like in Red Dead Redemption.

Personally, I don't see the population rising significantly until they overhaul the UI and make it much more user friendly. Right now, a new player will fight the UI more than he would fight monsters or other players.
^ ^ This.
When i bought the game to test it, the UI was horrable. I know it was built to be hardcore ie drag-looting and such, but it felt more and more like a game with just a bad design instead of feeling a sense of hardcore. All in All it was a bland experience. But good luck to them and the players, if they like the game then good for them.
Agreed. Played it very early in its life, and it was somewhat underdeveloped. Seems to be maturing VERY nicely.
I agree the UI could be improved. I think you shoud still need to drag loot as it leaves you vulnerable to attack while in the process. So no auto-loot should be added, but it could be improved.

Its really sad to see, even years after a successful launch, some vaportrolls just cannot give up.
Yes, the game is alive and doing better than most MMOs released in the past 5 years. Its about to release its third expansion, its opened a new server, its got game boxes in game stores all around Europe, they hired more developers, moved into a larger office building, they're building a motion capture studio, they're started free trials, and expanded their server capacity.
The game is doing very well.
And the fourth expansion is going to revamp the animations, weather system, in game character models, terrain textures, armor and weapons, and monster models, among many other things.
