in Final Fantasy XIV

Is FFXIV a new game or an expansion from previous versions? 

 

If its a new game should I still play FFXI till luanch to get up to speed.  Does anything transfer to the newer game?

 

Where should I look to get genral info and guild info?

    Nothing transfers from previous ffxi.  (maybe ur name with the additional surname)

    In my opinion i would just wait until ffxiv is released sept.22 for CE edition all others 30. Dont see reason to spend money on game then 1 month fee by that time it will be out.

    Final Fantasy XIV is a new game not an expansion. While it shares some similarities with Final Fantasy XI it is a very different beast.

     

    Nothing from FFXI transfers to FFXIV.
