NCGamers is starting a guild for guild wars. Our "MMO division" is called "Centurion Guard", you can check it out here! http://centurionguard.ncgamers.com
I didn't have much time to play this weekend, so I would like a little info from any of you that would be so kind
PvP:
What are you fighting for? is there a reason to fight? WHY do you Guild vs. Guild? I couldn't really get into it enough to figure all of this out.
Are there siege weapons? keeps to take over? Do guild aquire lands? money?
Any info on stuff like this would be extremely helpfull and appreciated!
Thanks!!

What did I say?
No idea, seems like a reasonable request - wish I knew too
Seems like that just happens with anyone who uses 'ninja' in their character names...
(didn't save him from Gwen did it )

well you fight guild vs. guild for an obvious reason..... well not obvious but you do it for whats the word
for rank .... the better guilds get more attention better players and from that im not real sure but you get a better ranking within all the guilds .. maybe you have to pay so much to fight a guild and winner gets this uber item or that im not positive
The prize to be had is status, and possibly more "tangible" rewards at some point. But right now, gvg is all about that ladder, competing to be the best, or at least of notable fame.
My people left the weekend ranked 25 (out of 1000, I think). We still haven't managed to crack the top 20, much less top 10. We rolled over most, and even some of the elites at the top, but when you get to that point, the top 20 and beyond is a hard nut to crack. (of course like all but one of the top 10 are alphas, so we don't feel too bad)

'Status' pah! don't need it - make it about honour and your on (and maybe a little gold?)
But as an incentive to get your guild members to practice tactics, strategy, and team work then the ladder has some purpose.
Tho' I'll be dead before you find me bending the knee to someone just because their guilds in the 'Top Ten' . Or abandoning my guild brothers/sisters to join some other guild for the 'status'. There lies no honour.
(BTW, heard anything about the rumour of guild splinters setting up new guilds for their original guild to beat and thereby raise their 'status'? I hope that's not happening, but I'll be taking the Ladder with a pinch of salt [and a fine Chiante])

In addition to the GvG ladder, there's the worldwide tournament going on in the Tombs of the Primeval Kings. That's a pyramid or single-elimination style perpetual tournament between 8 man teams. Basically you get your group together outside the Tombs and enter the mission.
The first phase is a 2-3 minute fight against some NPCs where you have to protect a Priest whose job it is to get you into the Tombs. If he doesn't die (not too hard to keep this from happening), you then go to the first round of the tourney.
There are several map types and objectives once you get inside. CTF, KOH, Elimination, etc., and each has a varying number of teams competing. It's usually 3 or 4 teams duking it out, and only the winner advances.
If you win enough rounds (and I'm not sure how many exactly this is, or if it depends on the number of teams in the tourney) you go to the Hall of Heroes for an 8vs8 with the current champ. Note that this is a worldwide tourney, so there will only ever be 2 teams fighting over the Hall, and only 1 winner.
There have been various statements made about the results of winning the Hall. The main effect will be to unlock secret areas for other players in your World (the GW world is divided up into US, Europe and Korea). But they've also mentioned things like statues being erected in your guild leader's honor in cities. There's also Fame Points for winning in Tombs battles, and there will apparently be some benefit to acquiring those, although they haven't been very specific about that.
THAT is the info I needed! Thanks!
Any more info feel free to share
You don't need to find the info on the Tombs...
Just play the game during the Beta Weekend Events, and participate in it yourself
There aren't really any official guides out yet, so my information is mostly second hand. >> This << is a pretty good description of the various arenas in Tombs though.
