Alchemist ftw
Well I chose Harvester only because I had to choose one! I plan on going Culinarian right from the start since I heard it will be as useful as in FFXI. I also plan on playing them all. I plan on leveling every discipline initially, then choosing the couple I like the most and get those maxed out before going back to develop the rest. And I'm talking about crafting and combat. The reason I chose Harvester is since I plan on trying all of them, Harvester will be very important in supplying me with all the materials I need.
There is no harvester, it's botanisttt
Goldsmith here.. because I need the blingbling.
alchemy most likely , depends on what kind of character i will make
Making so much noise you dont know when to listen.
Torn Between Blacksmith or Mining
Also, Shepherd is very likely to be implemented for retail. It's mentioned all over the Beta, and has it's own guild iirc.
Mind if I ask what the gameplay for that entails?

Waiting On: GW2, TSW, Archeage, The Rapture
Well, herding I guess!?
Depending on the lore, you might get to charm different NPC's to join your guild with your 12 disciples too. A real grouping class from the sounds of it.
I plan on being a Miner and keeping those Goldsmiths and Smiths in supply.

antics with semantics the offcial site actually has neither im not in beta so its second hand info as far as the class names go but for the most part harvester (despite what they all it in release) is slightly more appropriate considering its a gathering class like miner or fisher that will likely be the key supplier to alchemist. Now a botanist generally studies plant like which may be part of the class to but likely will takea back seat to collecting then selling. That being said who cares you knew what it was don't worrry about it.

Never say never. Botanist can very well be in there as another term for gardener which FFXI had.
My choice to start will be Carpenter. I follow the greatest Carpenter ever and want to be like HIM. LOL. small joke. silly I know. Anyway, I do like foresting and making furniture and bows and arrows and such, so I will start there.
However, I'm a fan of trying everything and maxing everything if possible, so I will be delving into the other professions as well. Especially cooking and fishing.
My first profession will probably be a cook, so I picked fishing from the poll since that will help out my craft.
Well looks like my LW is not that popular. Lots of Alchemy folks and fishermen (Cant believe so many actually like fishermen, I can't do it, maybe it will be better than FFXI version of fishing.).
Fishing in XI was actually pretty enjoyable. I liked the angler aspect and the little differences. When I'm bored beating things, hopefully it'll stay as intricate for XIV.
I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.
I voted for Weaving, but if Carpentery remains as unpopular as it is right now, I'll definitely switch to that. It's a well-known fact (or at least it should be!) that you stand to make the most profit when you have the least competition.

im nearly considering fishing o_O with nice graphics like those i can imagine it'll be relaxing and anjoyable especially agreeing with a post somewhere above mine about it being a nice thing after being tired of killing stuff xD
Aw, poll only lets us pick one,
i cast my vote for several, because i am one of the types that likes to take the time gathering all my resources, then crafting alot of my own gear.
so perhaps, a bit of all of the above ^^
