Problems Registering?

me4391me4391 Member UncommonPosts: 1

I bought the game for 5$ from steam, I try to register the account and everything is going well until after I enter my credit card info.  It does the Verified by Visa thing and that completes, but when I submit it, it gives me an error saying the server is busy or that my credit card can't be used.  Seems like a lot of people are having this problem, I was wondering if anyone found a way around this?

I'm having the same issue.  Tried a dozen times now.  May try again in a week or so.

I feel like it has something to do with the fact that my middle initial is on my credit card.  It won't let me put a space when I type in my name...so I don't think it will ever work.

    Everything else should be working.

You have to get a "verified by Visa" password and then it works, took me awhile to understand it but ye after i got the thing it worked.

I've done that with my Mastercard.  I believe it's called 'Mastercard Secured' or something.  I can get beyond that step in the verification process, it's the very end where I can no longer proceed.

I recently had to update my CC because the old one was about to expire and i had the exact same problems.

It is a crappy setup they have,i definitely had everything in order including the new safety password yet i got the same error claiming my CC could not be used.Square's whole support and setup is just so botchy it is sad for such a large corporation.

All i did was try it over and over and eventually on about the 10th try it finally worked, really sad to say the least. So obviously the error that said my CC could not be used was a false positive because i am playing and it did eventually work.

The problem is so obvious to me yet Square is so incompetent to see the problem,it is becuase Square's link is for USA ONLY,well guess what there is tons of people playing that are outside the USA,example myself [Canada],this is why you get the CC cannot be used, since we are verified by Visa.ca.I tried the USA link and it will not verify my CC,so all i did was click through that link as far as i could w/o getting any actual verification. It seems the game is waiting for you to finish through THEIR USA link, even though we already were able to enter our own information.

It seems so many countries  just think of Canada as some little island,we still have to pay in american funds, idk maybe another 500 years games will accept CDN funds and realize there is another country over here besides the USA.I have seen MANY sites that ask for a zip code only,we have postal codes,i ran into this same probem when talking to Square's support as their registration is exactly that way.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I had the same issue, support said there was an extra layer of security on my credit card so basically it would never work.

I'm having this same issue.  I've been trying to register for days, multiple times a day, with multiple different cards and it is not working.  I tried before the registration servers went down, and I've tried again now that they're supposedly back up.  I don't know what the problem is and their customer support is practically impenetrable.

Anyone who offers us poor saps some ideas gets a bunch of internets.

There is a work-around VBV with Firefox and NoScript, can't remember the exact details and unfortunately not finding the topic on the site I saw it on originally either(searches popped up...15+ pages of possible hits on the subject..yay).
