I know there is almost no information about this game yet but I'm just curious about some things and I'm being lazy and can't be bothered to look around for info scraps since I was away when it was announced. Anyway I heard someone say it was an MMOTPS (which I would love and think would suit this game best to keep up the shooter action pace) and that it was only 2 faction (this however, does not please me at all!). Just want to know if these things are true? And if the faction thing is true why have dev's all bailed on three faction ideas when people love them!? Planetside and DAoC had them back in the day so why do devs so fear them now?
Currently playing: No MMOs
Played properly: WoW
Tried: AoC, WAR, Aion, Darkfall
Looking forward to: FFXIV, Earthrise, The Secret World, Guild Wars 2 (very much), Project Copernicus (and Mercury for that matter), Everquest and Planetside Next (finally a meaningful mmofps again)
Wants to play in 2 years time if it survives from the subscriptions of fanatics and turns into the game with all features stated on the website: Mortal Online

IIRC it's said that there will be "Order" and "Destruction" (ya, that sucks) with Empire and possibly Eldar on Order, Chaos and possibly Orks on destruction; so unfortunately it seems there won't be a threeway war. :<
From what we've seen the game seems to be a third person shooter or similar, but it's a bit too early too say exactly How this mechanic works out since it might be a Tabula Rasa style TPS.
Not sure about what the devs said about any of this though since I can't fully remember and am too lazy to look it up. xP
im pretty sure that having more than 2 factions would make it abit difficult to make seeing as races like space marines and chaos would have most of the players and the other races wont be able to do all of the game content which would suck
I disagree with humans and chaos having all the numbers. Yeah people lean towards those, but if you make eldar, tau, necron, orks etc. both badass or cool looking enough, combined with having balanced classes, it would go a long way to avoiding any population imbalances. It's all about art department execution and class balance, that's usually what causes pop imbalances.
