I want to buy the Shadow Odyssey expansion from the official store for 20$. I'm currently using a trial account. Would I get a free 30 days after the purchase? or do i have to buy the Game for 20$ and immediatly will be charged 15$ for the next 30 days?

The first 30 days are free ... you only have to pay 20$.
before you purchase the game from the official store, have a searcg about, see if you can pick up a key somewhere cheaper.
Steam were recently selling it for $10 (dont think that offer is still about though)
If you find somewhere to buy it, just go to your account section on the soe website and add the serial key that comes with the package (or is emailed to you if you buy a download version)
if you buy from the official site, i believe you are automatically flagged as having purchased.
You will need to give details of a cc or register a gametime card before you gain access though. But you will not be billed/the gamecard will not be used until your free-time is over.
The days you have played on the trial are removed from your extra free entitlement (so, if you have 30 days free from the purchase and alread used the full 14 days of the trial, you will only get 14 days more)
edit... so, unless you are already attached to your trial character, you get more free time by creating a whole new account
Sometimes the system bugs out and you dont get awarded your free time, if this happen,s send in a CS ticket and they will add the free time to your account.
ok I will play the trial for a little longer and then will make a new account to buy the Shadow Oddyssey to get 30 days. Thanks.

It is but it seems the free part is quite limited. I was planning to buy the gold subscription on the free server some time later but then i would have to buy races and classes so I decited to actually play on the normal servers. It will be cheaper in the long time propably.
I bought the game from Steam and used the CD key they provided me on my trial account and i got the free 30 days, so i don't know why some people say you lose 14 days. It says my account will be charged on August 27th (i activated my CD key after my 14 days trial on July 28th).
