Which MMORPG has the most EVIL PvP Community and why/what reason?

Ever been in a mass Clan pvp camping fest, being repeatedly camped by a group of individuals with nothing better to do with their time?

seems rude and cruel in my book.

But what are some of you experiences with the evilness of PvP in MMORPGs?

Darkfall easily, but some of the guys in EVE are pretty darn annoying too.

Hands down, during the Mortal Online open beta.

These were people that had no interest in the game after the first moments in it, after realizing how buggy it was, and spent every moment during this free period making it hard on everyone else who played - because they knew full well that they wouldn't stick around for launch. The guys hacking thier pets to make them float way high up and attack people within the relative safety of towns were bad enough, but everyone else that knew they wouldn't stick with it decided to be a complete dickhole within the game's bounds. Stalking people and verbally abusing them for hours at a time, because that's how they get their kicks. Absolute scumbags during my time with it, and it would be no different for any other game with any kind of free access to it + the freedom to be complete dicks.

Along the same lines, you should have seen what 4chan did to Wurm Online in the 2-3 times they had an event to come back in the game just to ruin it for others. They boxed in houses with fences so nobody could escape, and turned miles of forest into gravel parking lots. Freedom like that is just meant to be abused to some people, but seeing how that was a coordinated effort by a group that considers themselves 'internet terrorists', it's not even half as bad as my experience in the MO beta, where these were just everyday jackoffs doing what they do.

Eve first. Waiting at gates for noobs to warp in and crushing you in one shot, and then saying "call for help, we'll ransom you"....eh...who? I just started the game you big TOOL! bah, I quit!"

...lol...that was my first character. I deleted him.

Darkfall Online...walk 10 steps out of the town and boom your dead. this was when I first started playing the game. Relog, come back later, same jerk, just waiting out there to grief new players. .../sigh

Age of Conan....Rangers in Tortage underhalls or White Sands who are level 25, sniping from stealth ANY level that is unlucky enough to walk past them.

WoW...every now and then you get camped hardcore by one or many of the opposite side. Worst time I had was this mage camped me and did the /spit emote about 10 times in a row then /lol emote and more /spit emotes. Macroed spam while camping my corpse.

All of these events to me indicate EVIL. I don't even have the mentality to think about doing this stuff, so it boggles me and makes me wonder about the mental health of MANY gamers out there, lol.

It would be the game that has the harshest death penalties and most freedom for people to abuse. I don't play these sandboxes for griefers so I wouldn't know which is the worst.

  • I'd say it's definately Darkfall, though I havn't really had enough experience with EVE to see any "evil" pvpers there. Nowadays Darkfall is pretty dead though (atleast on the EU server), so rather than simply walking out of a town and getting ganked, the general chats are mostly dead and when new players ask questions, I've seen pvpers who were still playing when the game launched basically telling them to l2p, etc. giving them a hard time.

Darkfall has one of the worst communities in any game. It used to be alright when there were a lot of players around launch and a month or two after. Of course they gank a lot too, then again I also did that, but they did it to noobs.

Evil is all point of view in EVE.

Max levels camping newbie areas in Lineage 2 and Huge 1st rate ship of the lines camping newbie ports in Pirates of the Burning Sea (basically camping rowboats in an aircraft carrier). Those are the two that come to mind. Such pals these people are...

Depends if you mean behaviour in chat or in PvP battle I think.

Darkfall is probably the most evil overall, but Age of Conan had a pretty nasty chat when I played, worse than my experience with Darkfall anway.

Any MMO with a world-PVP focus; because their opinions of fun differ from my own, which obviously makes them evil.

This one is easy for me. EQ1 on the old Rallos Zek server. Deleveled twinks made pvp a unfair fight most of the time (level 20`s with 500 AA). EQ1 also let the killer take a item as well as the cash that you had on you. I know I had saved my plat for a nice sword once and I was blinded and killed in P. Caverns. I ran back to get my items from my corpse just to get killed by the same guy. He looted my sword though. Oh well, I wasn`t in to pvp anyways so I transfered to a normal server and I was much happier there. Still, I did have some good times on Rallos Zek and I met some of the craziest people there. It was a harsh (but fun) way to start playing MMO`s.

I'm not sure anymore as I can't find a PVP game that I enjoy, but Age of Conan around launch was chaos, and it was a ton of fun.

My all time favorite mmorpg Matrix Online was very harsh for new players who just leveled to 16 "pop" you are dead... as you hit level 16 due to snipers and knife throwers out in  dark back alley with one street light just waiting for you to get your very first permanent pvp tag. Thats not all, the high ups "if you try to run" would literally chase your ass down, from roof to roof, building to building and so on. The best shit about Matrix Online was that you had many ways of escape from evil pvpers and it added intense fear. Matrix Online was the  best!!

Eh, a lot of people gank in Darkfall, but I have seen very little griefing. Probably the worst griefing I see are in PvP servers of PvE based MMOs, like WoW, where people can exploit the game mechanics to destroy people who have no chance.

Heh Fansy the Bard was an early example of griefing.....yet the story is a classic laugh.
