Well as a SWG player for 8 months who has converted to DAoC i feel my oppinion is fairly valid.
SWG initialy wow's you with flashy graphics and vehicles and the chance to play a jedi, but if you scratch beneath the surface there is an extreem lack of content. You do the same sort of mission over and over the only thing different the name of the NPC's and the location. You master a proffession, do a few badges and theme parks become force sensitive (all of the former take a LONG grind) and then you have a long grind ahead of you and the worst part is it is repetative and dull. Entertainers in the game are a joke standing and preforming with nothing else to do apart from chat. The freedom is great, the scenery the player houses the guilds are beautifully done, you cant make a real difference to the war though apart from changing a flag and the people that guard a NPC city, unlike in DAoC where you can get a group and go for the Relics and bases. JTL the expansion pack is basicly Xwing vs TIE fighter with improved graphics, the only real feature to the game is the Star Wars people inside it, the scenary and the occasional rare piece of beautiful music (eg. Primitive/Naboo party themes, Lok theme). SOE customer support is also terrible but as is DAoC Europes so ono real winners there. On to your questions

Hey, i had to quit WoW, and im currenlty looking for a new game..i was thinking either SW:Galaxies or this, i have a few questions

    1. How is character custimization - Fairly good, not to SWG standards but good and improved with Catacombs

    2. How active is this game? - Not as active in the lower areas but i still manage to find a group when i need one, much more active in the higher areas. Find yourself a good guild and you will be fine.

    3. Were can i get a free trail - http://www.darkageofcamelot.com/downloads/ - US 14 DAY

    4. How many different races/classes are their? Check out www.darkageofcamelot.com but there are Alot with different variety

    5. To level up do i need to Grind/Quest? - Yes but if you do it correctly and in a group its no big problem or fuss, not nearly as bad as galaxies and its buff and solo hunting systems.

    6. Is making money easy? - Doing quests and looting will get you some money but its not a walk in the park, find youself a good guild and they will probably help you out with this front.

    7. How is the level grind? - Again not nearly as bad as people say.

    8. How well does this game run on 56k? - I dont have 56k but i cant imagine it being THAT big a problem it may be a bit slow but im not thinking drastic , Dont even think about running SWG with 56K THEED and all major cities WILL crash or sevearly lag your game.

    9. How is the PvP? - The best, out of all MMORPGS even better than galaxies as you have RVR instead of Galaxies GANK squads

    10. Can i be like a tank? or a healer that rezzes people in this game? - Yes all fun to play!!

    11. Are their dungeons or instances? like in WoW or CoH. - Yes many and Catacombs opens up a series of new graphically brilliant new ones!

how well would this game run on a

-733mhz, 512mb ram, FX5600ultra 256mb, 56k. - The DAoC specs are 1.4 Ghz or equivalent all the other things are fine.

thanks for all the help and mabye ill see you in the game ^^

I'm actually going to try the 14 day free trial, as well. If you're going to be on tonight, send me an AIM at Yeildarb or just send me a PM.

I may be mistaken but i dont believe there are any game cards but credit and debit cards used with it are secure as mythic have taken serveral steps to ensure that, hopefully shouldent be that a big convenience to you.

Again check out the DAoC website and Mythics homepage to read up on the payment system, or if you are in the EU

    www.camelot-europe.com

    Again good luck with it!
