It's been a long time coming - no idea if they can do it. I'm excited for them to try anyway.
Do what? Cater to today's MMO world while creating the magic that made us play in the first place.

Its good to see somehting on this. Wasnt sure if it was real or not but it appears to be.
WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.
really wish they would make a new fantasy gameworld, should think 2 games with the same area´s would be enough. would be great tho to have a more seamless gameworld, and hopefully one that runs better than EQ2 so you could have contested encounters, without lag killing the fun of them.
Smed just sucks hell, but I love EQ and EQ2, I want EQNext now :P
Catering to today's causual MMO crowd will not bring back the magic that made the original EQ special. Catering to today's instant gratification crowd will just damage any sort of magic that was captured in the past.
^^^^ What Milky said!
And what part of this game is not being made for kids?
"This game is not being made for kids... It's being made for adults, because they have more money for us to milk dry."
Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

I'm not very excited about a cash store, which is quite likely given SOE history now. But guess I don't care either, EQ II store didn't affect my ability to enjoy the game.
Also interesting that Freeport looks nothing like Lucan's Freeport. This is a good thing imo - back to original EQ "for flavor and charm". I did like EQ II Freeport but it became depressing and opressive for a home city.
