I looked at screens and videos of the early late gameplay. <-- think about it
I must say this game looks a lot better and a lot more fun than it did even 6 months ago. The videos make the game look very fun. The classes have roles. The graphics aren't game changing but not horridly cartoonish either.
I just think that we may have something different here than the typical, what you see in beta is what you get. So much has changed in such a small time that maybe even what we see in october might be trumped.

Of course it looks better. The main thing about Bioware and Blizzard (truly these are the only AAA companies making MMO's at this time) is polish. Have you ever seen the early beta screenies of WoW? They looked horrid compared to what was in at release. Bioware and Blizzard will polish there games, which puts them in a different category all this is my opinion of course.
True you still may not like the graphics of WoW or TOR, its to cartoony is a popular phrase or some other reason. But what is in the game will be polished, and thats what most MMO gamers want is for the game to be polished which is a rare trait in this genre, unfortunately.
probably monotonous for developers
"HOW MUCH MORE POLISH DO YOU WANT?"
but I think it works.. the more you put into the game the more you'll get out
people can "smell" the work you've put into the games they play.
Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.
Agreed
one of the things you need to realize is the engine they are using to build this game, if you are unaware.

If it were Just Bioware you might have been right, But EA owns Bioware and when EA gets involved in online games, BAD things happen. And if I have learned anything from EA over the years that is it might look great but play like Dog.
They also merged Mythic with Bioware, and if this game doesn't churn out the 8-10 million subs they want Bioware might end up being called EA north or something like that.
you guys need to get your facts right.
Wow, just wow. You do know that EA is just the publisher. WIthout them you would not have had UO, The SIMS online, SWTOR, and other mmo's and projects. You cant blame EA for the failures of the developers. The developer set the time table for release when they ask for the money. If it wasnt for publishers like EA, you wouldn't have any mmos. I'm sorry, but as your name states, you faelsun.
Cheers!
MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
So, what you're saying is you're actually a EA hater, and that's why you're so religiously fanatic in trash talking SW:TOR?
Your point is moot, Blizzard is part of Activision and Arenanet is part of NCSoft and both companies have managed a fairly reasonable degree of independence.
The ACTUAL size of MMORPG worlds: a comparison list between MMO's
The ease with which predictions are made on these forums:
Fratman: "I'm saying Spring 2012 at the earliest [for TOR release]. Anyone still clinging to 2011 is deluding themself at this point."
Highly polished games with very high production standards are things that both Bioware and Blizzard excell in. That's why i'm not concerned about TOR's welfare. I have great confidence in Bioware and i'm sure they're gona deliver a game of very high quality. And i don't care if TOR isn't going to bring any groundbraking changes in the genre.
I wish Bioware or Blizzard could buy the Star Trek IP and give us a ST MMO as it should be.
I'm on your side about not blaming EA, but I'll point out that they aren't the publisher in this case. The publisher is the owner of the Star Wars IP Lucas Arts. People still like to make villains out of EA even though they've acted differently lately. They've pretty much left Bioware and other developers alone to do their thing so they can keep turning out quality games they are known for like Biowares Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. I think if anything does go bad with SWTOR it will happen because Lucas Arts puts something down that effects Bioware making the game.
at least someone knows the deal
8-10 million subs nice fabricated number. Any company may want xxx million Subs, but what they actually need is a lot less than you have quoted.
Please back up the fabricated figures above to stop me treating you with teh disdain you may not deserve.

I would not expect anything less from you Faelsun, misquotoing something by up to 10 times the actual number. But you are a TOR hater we all know this, why you keep posting in the TOR forum is beyond me.
I agree with you on this, I don't believe any mmo can really bring groundbreaking changes and be succesfull, people, even if they deny it feel more confortable with thigns they know so, more thaqn groundbreaking, developers take existing elements and evolve them and make them their own, thus making them more fun.
I do however disagree with Star Trek, the idea of that MMO should die with the current game :P
why would you hate to say the game looks better?
