Having nothing to do but farm the same handful of mobs for dozens if not hundreds of hours because there are no other means of leveling. You could consider steel rake to be an alternative but that place is more like fire temple than NTC and it's slower xp than soloing in some cases.
Just because it's not L2-grade stupidity doesn't mean it's not a grind. Due to the lack of things to do for most of the 40-50 leveling you, get this, grind mobs. Some people do it in theobomos because they can get some attack speed gloves to slightly make up for the nonsense.
Maybe we just can't handle a 'hardcore' game like Aion though.

I only see "more pve" with new patch. Like devs wanna keep players busy with PvE content. PvP system is so bad that i can tell future of this beautiful game: "make new expansion > wait till ppl eat every PvE content > make new expansion again > wait till ppl ...> "
Hopefully i m gonna check new expansion, but i dont think i ll pay than 1 more month for no-PvP game. How funny to see PvPvE game became mainly PvE game.

Ncosft added tons quests (not only repeteable).
And yes,doing repeteables is not grinding,because you get 300k of xp killing the mobs,and 1,6kk of xp for the reward,easy mod,just like wow.

I laugh at people who think the grind is leveling to 50. No my friend, that's the prelude to the grind. You hit 50 and get smacked in the face by the relization you have accomplished nota by hitting 50. Go farm tokens or AP points for months...

I prefer 10 times the grouping and the exploration of some areas that are really difficult, looking for some good drops, than walk all around the map looking for NPC "Y" that will send you to the next one... and the next...
Particulary, I left aion before hitting level 30. It's really a beautifull game that unfortunately failed providing the freedom that only those cool wings could provide. The world were to much fragmented for me. Sometimes a really claustrofobic world, according what someone here already commented).

I hope these solo instances make the game a little less painful. All in all Aion was a great game that has ONE HUGE problem.
RNG. WTF seriously the amount of luck that was in this game is just astounding. Peoplecan live with the problems they have with AP loss, grinding and even the kinah intensive world around them but RNG sent most of them over the edge.
Crafting was a huge RNG, Boss Monsters had such low drop rates even just trash from mobs was uncommon (which contributed to kinah). HHoM is probably the crowning jewl and made a good people quit in fustration. It also doesnt seem to be changing any time soon. Yes I know they raised the drop rates but I cant feel and many other cant feel the difference.
If they had no RNG Aion would of been a much more alive game than it is now.
If it werent for the pretty graphics Aion likely wouldnt be half as popular as it is now imo. I've considered coming back afew times until I realized I only wanted to return to see my smokin hawt female cleric again.
Aion is really no different from the rest of the MMOs out, except for maybe a slight pvp twist to keep the "pvpers" interested. I lost interest in about 4 months. If it weren't for the gay pets their adding this new expansion I may consider returning..but I think Aion is becoming a too "girly" for my taste. I'd almost feel embarrassed telling friends I play it lol

You are not high enough to understand. Once you get above 35 many of the quests reside in the pvp zone and there are tons of high level players who take great delight in giving you a dirtnap. Wait till you want some of the high end armor sets, you have not experienced grind until you have to get pieces for these sets. So enjoy the game while you can because it gets far more grindy.

Aion is a mainly PvE game, not PvP game. You see "lf pvp raid" at lfg channel? Never? Who is pvping in this game? So it s a PvE game Sieges? They are only about to have instances to farm AP. Rifting? It s only about fast AP.

This expansion is way too late to hope it will lure back all players- or even some - who have quit after couple of weeks/months . NCsoft isn't serious about any real commitment to western markets ( they have shown that time and time again ) unless the game is made in the west by a semi-external studio in the first place ,i.e. Arenanet . What they should have done when porting Aion to the West is outsource the entire project to a western-based studio ( keeping the physical stuff like graphics,sound and basic lore ) and have them make it specifically for western markets .
The way they did it doesn't work at all . One would have thought they'd have learned their lesson from Lineage 2 ,but nope. Aion will never become as succesful as they had hoped in the west and the only ones to blame are the suits in Korea who lacked the guts to commit to western market ( and still lack that guts ) .

As i was saying. I agree with this expansion being too late. Another thing, they still haven't done anything about certain class imbalances when pvp'ing vs. other certain classes. Little has changed since launch... Not enough has been fixed, It's just getting worse and worse.
