Yes! You get em!
Most of the MMORPGs out there you need to download. Not cielent ones, those are ok. the ones were you need to download the whole damn game. You know 50% of the world doesnt have SUPER AWSOME OMFG WTF BBQ 50000000000000GB PER 1/2 SECOND connections. we have dial-up and such and takes around 1-2 days to download a game that has around 400mb.
So why is it that MMORPG makers tend to make you download the game? Ill put it this way. If you cant afford a browser based server then shove a sock up it and cry your way home.
Another reason why i hate these is becuase i dont like 10/10.5 of the games i play. So after wasting a day or two of my life i end up hating it.
So it comes right down to this: Does any one know a game that has:
1. | A small comunity. (not over 1000+ players at a time and a min of 10) |
2. | Lots of spells, wepons, armour, etc. |
3. | Diffrent classes (Id like 3+) |
4. |
Must be Browserbased or Cilent Download ONLY |

Sorry. I simply dont like Text-based MMORPGs. I like to see graphical actions. Even if it is crappy like Aspereta or such.

Ditto.
Sorry, we're in the year 2005, not the 90's anymore.
Ok guys, let's not be cruel..
But as they said...Most newest games do take 700mb/4gb to download IF you do not buy the CDs/dvd
This is why Computer gaming is endless money-sink...You need to upgrade your computer atleast once a year just to keep up with newest games...but sad to say, that's how it is and that's how it unfortunately will always be.
I'd highly suggest batmud, bat.org 23. It's one of the longest standing muds on the net, at peak it less than a thousand but in the several hundred range and at 'off hours' it has probally 50-60 people on at all times... its well playtested, bug free, i'd recommend a decent mud client ot play it though. (zmud, tintin++, etc).

Um not quite. You can easily get along by only upgrading about every 2-3 years. That's the span I upgrade in. Just make sure that when you do upgrade you get a 2nd line system (not top of the line you'll be wasting money, but 2nd tier). The system will last plenty long. Systems that were 1st & 2nd string about 3 years ago are finally beginning to be problems on new games. EQ2 and WOW were the only games that my 2002 rig couldn't handle with ease.
However I will say this:
In today's world if you're still wasting money on a dial-up and ISP then you're foolish. ISP: $10-$21/month. Phone line: $19-$35 a month: Combined cost: $29-$56 a month.
Cable Modem (most companies): $25-$55 a month
Why would you use a modem??? Why? Unless you are just in an area where you can't get cable-modems or DSL (which are fewer every day)?

Sure, the title isn't really "politically correct" but remember, two wrongs doesn't make one right.
While not completely PC, *he* didn't use any personal attacks.
Tip, when you flame and your first thread gets deleted, I wouldn't continue it as it might end in ban.

I think he means that hes on high speed but the game hes downloading has a lame speed, not that hes on 56k.
There are some idiot MMORPGs. What i really dispise is the cheap marketing tactics that some use.
Hyping people up on features in their games that you can only play when your extremely high levels is one i hate the most, because its the reason the player joins the game in the first place. There should at least be a warning.. "At high levels you can..." for an example.
Another is having to buy the client, then the monthly fee. Now i'm not saying that the client should be free when the game goes master because that is stupid for obvious reasons but i went into Game (the store) today and saw SWGs still on sale for the same price it came out with that seems kinda dumb to me because even if you download the SWG client for a free trial you then have to go out and buy the client that you already have just so you can start paying the monthly fee.
Theres probably more but thats all i can think of right now.
