FFXIV and pvp?

in Final Fantasy XIV

any kind or form of pvp in this game in any way?

cant find any info about it.

    No.

    (maybe later they put a mini game like ballista on ffxi buts thats hardly pvp)

    Not at the moment, and most likely not at launch. They said they wanted to add some sort of PVP to it later, but it more than likely won't be any more than a ballista type event.

    PVP won't have any weight in this game, it will be more like a side event just for fun. This is first and foremost a PVE game.

    They said there is a team "working on it" as we speak, but this is a PvE game, most of all. 

    PvP will not be primary focus, it will be something you do for fun sometimes, not for carrots.

    Using LOL is like saying "my argument sucks but I still want to disagree".

    Hmm read that there, gives a lot of people reason to believe at some point we may see some sort of "for fun" limited pvp.

    Final fantasy has never been about pvp. Its always been about story and the journey. PvPers will be greatly disappointed, perhaps you should wait for halo reach?

    SE are very much against PKers in their online games, hence almost no PvP. On the plus side I would be only to happy to go chocobo jousting for fun with you... if that were ever to be implemented.

    Not sure if that is sarcasm or not, but in any case, reach will be out a week before the CE of this releases. I guess that'll make that last week of waiting for FFXIV go exceptionally fast for me.

    Besides Ballista FF11 also had some sort of PvP league it just never became popular since most didn't care about pvp or just didn't want to pay Gil to reserve the Battleground.

    Dunno if FF14 will add something similar but i am almost certain that if they add pvp it will not be in the form of open world pvp.

    Any word on Conquest yet?

    It at least adds some form of competition against other nations, i know it wasn't a huge deal in XI but I enjoyed it personally.

     

    Think it will be in XIV? Can't imagine why else they'd divide players amongst 3 nations again.
