1. I remember someone said that UL will not be related to Reclamation in any way... is that true or possible? I mean all the players that will have or has or are playing UL now won't they see alot of familiarities between the two? you know its a dream, a city, 8 house, it has caudel rifts? i mean how much more can you say before someone will mistakenly refer to UL in-game... which at that point be considered ooc?

2. If it is not related, how will the player deal with this? Will you offer me 10 years of memory wipe? Cuz i know i aint perfect and i will probebly at one time refer back to UL.

sorry but i feel that issue is important and could be cleared up more.

thanks

I think (I could be totally wrong, its happened before... a lot) that they're saying that its the same place but everyone from UL will be long dead by the time it takes place. Its a fresh start, you can't keep your character. Maybe our Underlight characters will be part of the ancient histories told in Reclamation. Wraith or Kard could be like... ok, I can't think of any historical figures but you get the idea.

As a player you'll just have to treat Reclamation as an entirely new game. Its not like you're playing Mandrake all the time so you shouldn't have a real difficult time adjusting. I've got a feeling the beginning of beta testing will be OOC anyways so you'll probably have time to get used to it.

I believe Rec is suppose to be many, many years after UL.  Read the Master Bentis stories on the Rec site (well written and would like to see Him, the kids, and that woman in another story personally), I got the impression that that there was another Great Loss or something to that effect and its a good many years, triple digits wise, before anyone esle entered the dream, so all names and most histories were lost.

As for accidentily referring to UL in game, yeah, I imagine its gonna happen and i'll be guilty of it too.  Don't know if there's anything one can really do about it though.  I see it mostly popping in tasks were I'm ask to find the history of a certain art, and end up relating the story from UL.

    ....and life goes on

Reclamation is the same City of Dreams as Underlight. The story is at some point dreamers became hated by everyone. So in the end the dreamers were either killed or stopped dreaming. Eventually the entire city was empty. No more dreamers.

A century or more later, the City of Dreams is calling dreamers again. A new Great Awakening has started.

Then i hope there will be guidlines where the players that played UL won't be ruining it for those that hasen't dream in the past.

For example they should not be walking dream encyclopedia, hell i threw away mine when i got engaged to be married... shes always right!

Also hope it will be controled by Lyra on how many discoveries one person can make i mean, one scholar can't find all the histories of all the arts in the same day uh? (( i am looking at mister lunitari here from oosm!!! cuz if soemone could you could! hehe))

Because past dreamers will have a huge advantage on the really new dreamers and we do not want to set up 2 different crowds.

My last question about this is to you the players of UL, how will you plan on dealing with this future problem? How can we prevent any tainting? Now is a good time as any other to discuss this!

It's a matter of roleplaying, really.  I'm sure that Lyra would encourage players of Underlight to go into the game "fresh," i.e., their character doesn't know any more about the Dream than any other random Cloudsbreakian.  However, depending on your backstory, you may have had exposure to more info than other characters (like Bentis).  Regardless, a former UL player's familiarity with the advancement system will be a chip in their pile.  I imagine it will seem quite alien to brand new players.

in a perfect world everyone woudl do just that, go into the game fresh with no knowledge but you do know between you and me that dreamers will imply they are from a distant family of UL where they shoudl be more important and so and so and that their ancestors have left them with the full compendium history of the dream from back in the ages and they are never wrong...

you see where i am going

There will be no problem if everybody just cooperates and makes a new player name. Nobody forces you to roleplay and enjoy the game so may as well act responsibly and follow the story.
