So I heard that this game has been previously release in other countries...
Does that mean it's more of a "finished" game or is it suffering from the same circumstances other newly released mmorpgs have?
The quests. Are they there? Any pointless messenger quests that don't tell you where to go? (I hate those, I REALLY HATE those, they make me want to split my head open.)
I heard you have to be on-line to sell stuff... Just like EQ2. ARE YOU SERIOUS?
And last but not least,
How the heck does the trial period work? What happens after 14 days? Do I then have to pay for the full retail version of the game? What's the deal?

It is an old Malaysian game with a graphics engine from the 90s. It suffers from endless lag and bugs that the licensing company are inable too fix. They need to beg and plead with the malaysian company to get anything done. Because of this when you bring up problems you have ingame you are more then likely to get a rude response from mods or devs. Things like "its your computer" or "get back to me when you know what your talking about" Anyone that sees issues in this game they would rather abuse so as to make quit. It is the most buggy game I have ever played and the only excuse I was given was "all games are buggy". lol. They have marketing schemes that are in place because they know this game isnt good enough too attract ppl on its own. These prize events always fall short and make fans feel misled or cheated. Now they will supposedly give you a million dollars if you play.
The quest system is the most generic I have ever had the misfortune of playing. Its the typical "go get this and return to me..now go kill 3 mushrooms..now go kill 5 king mushrooms..now go to dippy and pick up my pants blah blah." gets rather annoying doing mindless quest back and forth between same 2 npcs.
And yes you will have to buy the retail for 50$ and pay 12$ a month. only get this game if you like being ripped off
PS most if not all the hype and good reviews in here is from mods and guides. Read other threads to see how rude and immature they are. Even the CEO was in here flaming. Just goes to show how pathetic the support system and management is
On a side note. I HAVE NEVER contacted customer support for any game in my entire life.
EXCEPT, for a SSR Dungeon's and Dragon's game that I mail ordered back in the early 90's. That was only because I had a brand new Tandy 286 and I didn't have a soft floppy drive (they sent me the 5.25 instead of the 3.5).
So in other words, I could give a $h!# about customer service.
This intrigues me actually, I'll post this is the general chat forum.
Malicus is all over the place with his message here...
First off, this is not a Malaysian game. There was a version licensed for Malaysia by a company called CiB (which is where Malicus started) that was extremely buggy, but they were able to work their stuff out and get a lot of the issues fixed.
We (Planetwide Games) have licensed the North American version of the game, as well as other regions that we haven't announced yet.
There are (I believe) 4 different version out currently and China is about to go Pay to Play.
We don't work with the Malaysian version of the game and need no approval from them to do anything. Once again, my boy Malicus here is confused.
If you poke around on these forums, or anywhere else including the Planetwide Games forums ( forums.ryl.net ) you will see that Malicus is angry because he didn't get a T-shirt for an event we hosted.
Feel free to stop by our forums and see for yourself how we deal with customers and players. I think you'll find that we are among the best when it comes to support and listening when there are issues.
Malicus needs a hug...
Here's what I posted in the other thread where Mr. Malicus wrote the same exact response...
---------------------------------------------------------
Actually, from my understanding as I have NEVER spoken to you, it was just a t-shirt.
There were multiple GM's that talked with you about redeeming your tickets for fame, which was done for 2000+ people after the event was over. We even left the time to redeem tickets open for an additional 2 weeks to accomodate all the players that needed to turn them in. You just didn't like that answer and decided to go here and everywhere else and spread lies...
Anyway, if you guys would like a taste of reality, feel free to come on over to our forums and look around for yourself. It is Malicus free as he has been banned for spamming the forums. http://forums.ryl.net
As always, feel free to contact me directly if you have a question. chip@planetwidegames.com
i may not think RYL is indeed the best game out there, but i must agree with stabby (slappy) that the customer service is some of the best there is in any mmorpg. most of the time you can just pm a GM and he'll help you out with anything (questions about the game mechanics, bugs, ect).
im a noob by the way, im glad to be in this forum
The price isn't $50 plus $12 per month when you join--I paid $36 total for over 7 months membership. Try it out--if you like it then check the deals on pricing.
It's a huge download, over 600 mb, but minimum processor requirement is 400 mhz. I've got a 1.8 ghz celeron that has problems with other games, but RYL flies on it. By contrast, I spent 10 hours downloading EQII and then it wouldn't run--said my Geforce 4 with 128 mb ram wasn't powerful enough.
My computer has problems with There, which has a much lower resolution in the graphics than RYL, and I previously thought that was the limit, but now I realize it's more because of design problems in There's platform, because RYL has fantastically detailed graphics and fast action play with a large group of people (in There, you slow down to like 1 frame/second when there are more than a few people around you).
When lag hits in RYL, it's more like a freeze for a few seconds, then you're back to normal speed, you don't just slow down. Lag is terrible around the center of the village where all the people setup their "shops", however, and sometimes you get stuck in mid-air when jumping, but I guess they're working on a fix.
I really wish There could be shifted to RYL's game platform. Also like to see RYL add voice chat like There has--hard to fight and type messages at the same time.
Watch the latest episode of "The Guild" and other Pwnage videos from around the net--also post your own: http://PwnerTV.com

Yeah, I can smell a wet dog from a mile away
I've got the trial downloaded, and well, it looks like I'm just going to have to try it myself.
I'm sure I'll post a review before to long
!
I have been playing for about a week and I also like the game. I know have 2 charecters over lvl 30.
lvl 32: sorcerer
lvl 30: enchanter
I would say it was def way easier to get a party if you are in a support type class like enchanter, healer since there are a ton of melee people. The game is fun to play but really does need some bugs fixed. I usually crash once a day and any time you respawn in town you lag due to the hundreds of shops and people everywhere. Overall i pretty much like the game, they just need to get some of the bugs out soon.
hey i just subscribed the 14 day trial and play the game after downloading it for 2 hours im on lvl 5 not that good to rpg's, but i enjoy kiling those Young Inchmann..ahahhahha... i hope that i could goin any party before the free trial end...Hey any cheats to share? for real.
WHAT THE HECK?!
Is this a joke or are actually the company that runs the game posting here? Thats insane, NO game company employees with the slightest bit of self-respect would roam around fansites and post. Thats like parents sitting down in the sandbox and telling their toddlers what they can and cannot do.
Jeez! YOU GUYS FREAK ME OUT - SERIOUSLY!
Im so happy Im paying a serious game company. Blizzard Europe might have a GM glitch but they deliever support on every single issue Ive confronted them with within a few days. And they dont visit my favourite WoW fansites, thank god
I think it's great that a rep from PlanetWide has come on here and shows a voice. I'd rather get to know a company and see that they are real people, then feel I'm dealing with some alien that takes my money.
BTW, I have been playing WoW since Day 1 - all Blizzard's fancy decorating and "community service" was not enough to keep me playing the game, as it's just so goddamn boring now. I'm level 60, and got the best items I can get for my class (other than epics).
If you are already level 60 and already have all the best items then you should realize you are not playing the game the way its supposed to be played? I am but levlel 40 and playing at Earthen Ring (a European Role Playing server). Each of my game session are incredibly intense and I have never had so much fun in my 8 years of MMORPGs. The roleplay is by default very good, the world is detailed beyond anything done before and the lore around the game always backs up whatever quest you are on. Im not a crazy fanboy saying WoW is the greatest game ever done. Just comparing with the ten or so mmorpgs Ive tried eariler.
To often people isstake MMORPGS for MMOS. The RPG is vital to the mmorpg gamestyle. Even on PVP and carebear servers. RP servers are just there for those real hardcore roleplayers. And if one really takes the time to get immersed into the world its just something very different. And guess what, MMORPGs are not a contest of who dings 60 first
What is the prupose of just leveling and hunt items? If thats all there is to the game then you have fallen into some kind of trap set up by the game designers. Myself Ive hidden the exp bar away, and if I ding.. .well then I ding. If me and my comrades come upon some horrible beast and succesfully slays it and I find a unique item like Thinking Cap of the ugly boar (or whatever). Then thats a happy coincidence, I dont go around slaying monsters I know to drop a specific item. Thats just SOOO COMPLETELY UTTERLY BORING.
And... all I have written is my humble opinion of MMORPS. Im not saying my view is the correct one
I agree with you GOOB!!! it is really good that they always have a rep from PlanetWide to attend to questions about their product!! and they are very attentive when it comes to the players who's asking about how much the game is?? and on how to play the game in a certain level... I think the money that you spend in this game is really worth it..
