Rift: Planes of Telara: Dwarves Revealed

The Rift: Planes of Telara team has revealed the lore behind the Dwarf race. These hearty folk are the descendants of Bahralt's (the Crafter God) helpers, those who literally built Telara. Bahralt granted them life for their assistance and the desire to build and create continued in their mortal plane.
The Dwarves are a fallen people now. Without a homeland, they wandered for many years, taking shelter with the Mathosians, Elves, and even the Eth, as few towns would turn away a dwarven craftsman looking for a home. When Borrin Gammult returned as an Ascended Guardian, many Dwarves rallied to his banner in Sanctum, vowing to build a new home with the Vigil’s blessing, and to seek redemption for the sins of Hammerknell. Holy Sanctum owes much of its beauty and strength to the efforts of Dwarven heroes, mortal and Ascended, whose genius never faded even as their hope guttered to embers.

Damn, poor Dwars. Who can turn a way a true craftsmanship?
I must admit that's a really cool backstory for the dwarves of Telara. I plan on playing Defiant currently, but if/when I make a Guardian ALT, it'll be a dorf!

So the Dwars was created by a male god in his image, so that mean that the Dwars will be a male only?
I was wondering the same thing, because I can't find any mention of it so far. I wouldn't mind if there were no female dwarfs though, in most games they're fugly anyway. If they're only male, I do wonder how they'll "reproduce". :>
Thank God. I've had a obsession with small races since I started playing EQ in 1999. Now I can finally take a look at this game since it features my favorite race. Looks good too!

Love the dwarf race and crafting is a big deal to me so this is good news indeed.
WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.

Are Dwarves the only small race?
Only male dwarfs eh? Queue the Blue Oyster Bar music from the Police Academy movies then.
This might go a long way in explaining why dwarves are always seen to be notoriously ill-tempered.

Everyday Telara is shaping up to be the "TRUE" successor of the legendary original Everquest! The lore so far is already drawing me in just like EQ did more than a decade ago! Can't wait for more info on this promising MMO!

IT's always, the once glorious civilization now lies in ruins, or a shade of its former glory.
I never see "these dwarves are at or nearing the pinnacle of their civilization". Behold the wonders of dwarven craftmanship!

Was actually looking at this game a day or 2 ago as a possible new game I'd play and it looked good. Had good backround lore ect and seems alot of hard work has gone into it. Just hope this delivers now

LOTRO, EVE ... GW2 certanly. Even Telara and TOR.
But there is something about Rifts that speaks of very good design.

I normally am a big dwarven fan but I'm not a fan of Rift's version. They just don't look right to me.
Not a deal breaker, but a small dissapointment.
