    Ok, one question. If someone is owning the original DAoC, then do they get the graphical improvement aswell? It seemed so in the article, but do the characters get an improvement too like in Catacombs expansion?

    That only deals with ugrading the graphics of the enviroment.  Specifically it is designed to improve the Classic and SI areas.  This is a free upgrade so I believe in keeping with what they do with those it will be available to all for free.  You won'tll need catacombs or ToA.  There might be system requirements though that you need to meet.

    Characters will not get an improvement.  That is one of the reason you should buy Catacombs.  If you have the Catacombs expnasion they are continue to add more to that as the artwork becomes available to do so.

    I'm usually on as Ogrelin or Adani got a few other chars though... :)

    Mythic no longer supports the origional graphics engine. They do however give all those who just own the origional a free graphics upgrade. The patch that comes out today looks nice. I myself have been playing since 2 months after release and I am still having fun with it today.
