need some info on pirates of the burning sea

  Pirates of the Burning sea is an MMORPG currently in development by Flying Lab Studios(FLS) The release date is rumored to be some time this year.

  The game world takes place in the Carribean area, the map was recently expanded by a great deal and combat will take place in instanced zones

  Combat is largely skill based however the skill of your officers and the type of your ship will come into play and will often be a deciding factor on your chances in a battle(a Sloop of War is not going to beat a Third Rate Ship of the Line)

  There will be many ships to choose from, you may customize your ships paint scheme and even use custom flags if they are approved by the dev team and voted on by the community(see user content on the website) You will start off the game with enough cash(Reals in the game, pronounced "Ree Als") to buy a ship.  And as you move up in your profession you will have the opportunity to get new ships, Naval officers may even be commisioned to ships that they will become responsible for(in other words, its possible for them to get free ships, though they arent technicaly "theirs") But you can always steal a ship from someone else, though piracy is a capital offense (but dont worry, no perma death)

  Players may choose between multiple professions which range from Merchant to Pirate, PvP will play a huge part in the game although PvE encounters with NPC ships will also be an option.  NPC's dont just spawn continuously into the gameworld either, you wont ever sit in a certain area waiting for the ub3r mob to spawn so you can get some phat lewt.

  There will be an extensive reputation system that takes into account actions that you commit and the nations will react to you accordindly, the playable nations thus far are France, Spain, and Britain.  Just remember that one countries pirate is another countries hero, they will never all love you, but it is possible for them to all hate you, so watch your back, it may be difficult to get your reputation back up to be able to use a countries ports, of course there will always be some pirate ports where you can stock up on supplies when no one else will sell you anything

  The Website is going to be updated soon along with a ton of new information about the game, i suggest that you check out the forums and sign up whenever it is convenient for you, the community is very welcoming and the development team interacts with the potential players frequently(actually most threads have at least one post by a developer somewhere in them, even in off topic) and even better than this is the existance of a Dev Question forum, where players can get specific answers to questions(if of course they are allowed to answer such questions)
