When does Open Beta start?

So I've been waiting for this game since it was first announced, and I must say I've been dying with anticipation, it's almost unbearable. I am curious as to when the date of the beta starts and was wondering if anyone had any insight into this matter. Thanks!

hm..I didn't think there was going to be a open beta, however googling around seems to say otherwise.
Apparently it's been confirmed there will be one, but I can't find a date.
So don't know, if I had to guess i'd say 2-3 weeks before release or something, to stress test the servers.

Yeah it would be unorthodox not to have an open beta, and probably unwise because stress testing is so important. I am guessing that this next week or the week after will be the last weeks of closed beta testing and then there will be a few days lull as they put all the mechanics they have decided on from closed beta into the game and then the opening of the servers up to the public. This Fileplanet thing is not going to work for me, hahaha. I am not going to pay 15$ just to get into beta, I need to save that for my collectors edition copy...

Closed Beta applications end on august 16th, Open Beta applications are announced for the near future. So probably Open Beta around early to mid-september I guess.
Hopefully early september, cause mid september would mean that it would be close to CE start time.
Early September would make the most sense. This way, if they need to, they can emergency order extra hardware to support whatever disastrous thing happened.
