can i run it? plz help!

hello all. i am new to this site so sorry if this isnt the appropriate section to be posting this question. i have been following this game for months now and like many, i have applied to numerous sites for beta access just to be rejected lol =(. i would really like to know how my cpu will be able to handle ffxiv. i only play on a 21 inch monitor 1600x900 so i am not too concerned about 1080p. btw i scored a 3400low in benchmark but have heard from many that it is misleading. anyways here are my system specs. any responses are appreciated.

windows vista 64 bit

amd phenom II x2 550 processor 3.2ghz

nvidia 9800 gtx+ (slightly oc'ed)

4gb ram.

thanks

Edit: Probably an upgrade to a Quad Core 9950 would be the best for you, however, you should be perfectly fine at Medium-Low.

Yep. Really at medium all you're losing is complex shadows, probably greater water detail, and flora being f@#(!)# everywhere.

Could try out open beta when it comes around.

No date on it yet, which I find a bit strange, but they confirmed there will be one at some point

I'd wager at max 2-3 weeks.

I think the system requirements are really being exaggerated, even with the long draw distances I don't think the game is that graphics intense so most should be able to run it.  I scored really bad, I think around 2200 on low settings and at least from what I can tell with the beta's max res I'm doing great, never have had lag.

The game doesn't have software anti aliasing (from what I could tell) and even when turning hardware anti aliasing and the rest on, still not a problem.  I got a Phenom x4 940 @3ghz, Radeon HD 3870 CF, 4 gigs of ram, Vista 32bit.  If the old PS3 can run it, I don't think there will be a big problem for most.

Beta 3 has been well underway for about a week now. (Just giving a heads-up.)

Crossfire didn't work on the benchmark, but it supposedly does in beta.
