Final Fantasy is coming to a point where something has to change..im not saying changing things about the game or the game itself...just conduct... how people go through the game.... as of right now...its about money...gil gil gil...gil is the magic word..well...the magic letter is k...40k,100k.....walk in jeuno..can't talk to anyone because of all the spam and bazaars..lag spikes...just pretty much video game "chaos" at least there is no duplicating...that i know of....i heard rumors that japanese people can hack because the game is written in japanese..and that they where duping logs in an area....it doesnt end...the constant quest for money...the high prices..from demanding gil sellers and campers...the lack of communication...just doesnt get any more of a waste of time...
this has a purpose..this thread..to tell you of a change in server Caitsith,
feedback is of course wanted...and i want this read, and spread, to all servers...
The game play has to changes..what you know of your daily routine on vanadiel has to change....
KINGDOM VERSUS KINGDOM
one thing i have noticed...is people dont usually care about what party member is leveling with you just as long as there is a white mage in the group...i say it needs to change...the countries and the people have to be more seperated.... and each city has to work as one to try and take out the beastmen, and take the area over..so we can sell the produce in our city...bring people to our city....to buy our stuff...change will be difficult...ive started from stratch...3 linkshells...one for each city...the color of each flag..green-Windurst, red-San d'Oria, blue-Bastok, i give them out to each citizen of their country.. they work together...each seperate city....the people go for one area at a time...killing mobs..doing quests, donating extra equipment to outposts keeps your influence in the current area.. i started making the people in the linkshell share with eachother..... trade...barter...no money involved..money is made from "tourism" we own that area...they have to come here for that material....one person should go into an area to fight...it should be groups from a city... charging in to take the area...while a runner from a different city warns others...and its a battle for the area...people change jobs to suit the citys needs...low levels carry extra equipment, drops...or turn whitemage and skill up.....and somewhat help out..areas right outside the city and the first dungeon , ei. giddeus, ghelsba. get people soloing up to 12 or so..and thats when they can become usefull in the battle...i think parties would be easier to make....it all depends on if your city is in the region....
SHARING
citys should share amongst themselves...and sell to outlanders.....having people go out to collect a certain peice of material..ei..conquesting an area for the monsters...whilst others retrieve another material..they bring it together...and crafters..build it for them..or someone else...but by doing so..they can get stronger...go out...get the materials and get equipment for the people who got it for them...crafters can have apperentices...low level crafters...building medium supplies... for high end crafters....materials sold to eachother..ultra cheap...if not free..because high end equipment...that you wont have to pay for will come out... it just has to be the whole city working together
may seem drastic..or lunatic...but it think it would be better this way...i have more ideas and could go on a lot longer...but i would like some feedback or ideas and suggestions....but i will continue to grow my cities linkshell...i gave pearlsacks to others of different city to spread...and i collect signet staffs..to be past around for free....you going out? ok here take this and this...armor should be exchanged...jobs are change so often....finding a common city ls...and armor swapping could be efficent...but please....if you like this idea...spread the word...if your server is caitsith..look for Xynth
i hope to change Final Fantasy....play to fight...not to worry about gil...you got enough "real" problems you dont need the same online....

Xynth-Xavier I understand what you mean because people are greedy in this game and thats all people want is gil and to be rich. Here is an idea that they should do. Make armor better and remove the auction house and force people to use there bazaars. As well they could also make it easier by making more gil drop and making shops have the items. Also making it possible for people to solo so they can travel the world alone and enjoy there adventures. If this was all possible the game would be 10 times better then it is now.
6 & 7 were the best, and 4 has to be up there too. 8 and 9 were decent, don't really have any desire to play 10 just because of the whole no world map thing
Oh I forgot, 5 was another good Final Fantasy.
Rather, it seems to fall from websites and EBay. Nothing ruins a game faster than when people start purchasing gil (or the equivolent) online. I really blame this for the giant inflation we've seen and more should be done to punish those that "buy" gil.
Just like the original post said, everyone is way too worried about gil.

For my money FF VI was the best. The best story I've ever experienced in a game. I cried like I was 8 and watching bambi for the first time in one part (of course it later turned out that it was even sadder than it had to be becasue I screwed up . . lol).
After that, FF VIII (the perfume commercial intro rules!), then VII (great story and sidequests), then X (overall a wonderfull experience).
On FF X: No other game has ever made scream at the top of my lungs: "Take all the godamn balloons you ^^&^%%, just (*&(&*(* take them all! Yeah and hit me in the head with another )**(&&*^&* seagull while your at it! Yes, yeas baby I 98&*(*(89 love it!" . . . .I imagine the neighbors thought I had lost my marbles
I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.

You got the idea! Go to it!
Sounds like you 've got what it takes to be quite a guild leader.

Well.....
The question is, does FFXI have item decay or bind on equip items?
Ebay doesn't necessarily ruin a game, it's the fact that remendous amounts of wealth are added into the economy every hour with nothing to regulate it.
The American economy has (typically) constant expansion, population increase, tech inovation, regulated intrest rates etc. etc..
MMORPGS have none of this, and hence, constant inflation.
What made me quit FFXI were basically the ridiculous prices for equipment and the sub job system. Farming for a month so that you can afford armor is not my idea of fun, and its not like you have an option because if you dont have the right armor no one is going to invite you (mainly a problem at higher levels). Now the sub jobs... dont get me wrong I think this is a great idea but your sub job doesnt level with main job. So youre going to have to level the sub from level one, which doesnt really bother me BUT if you dont pick a job combo that works well with each other your going to have to level a yet another sub job from level one just so you are able to level the sub job you plan on using with your main job (again due to the fact that people wont invite you). Another problem that adds to the sub job issue is that if you are new to the game youre not going to be able to pick one of the advanced jobs until you are level 30 (and IMO all the cool jobs are advanced jobs). So before you even start playing you should really plan out how you are going to level your character, as in the order you level your jobs and the level of your jobs.
For me there is too much going back and forth from job to job and farming for the Gil needed for equipment to support all these jobs. I had fun playing this game but you need to devote a lot of your time to it,
so if you have the time and a true love for the game it should be a blast, if not I suggest you look for another game.
(sry for the poor sentence structures, grammar, etc, but its 4:00 AM right now)
Hello again, Xynth here,
thank you for some feedback, although some of you are a little off topic...(btw, final fantasy 7, is the best one, nothing will ever beat the materia system) anyways, ive decided to buy world passes, and i will transfer people to caitsith, people from here, if its not a problem to post a world pass number, i will keep posting numbers if mmorpg allows it, i dont see why not, but ya never know..
ive been watching some friends play, still, going to valkrum to lvl to 20, then qufim, then yhoater jungle...its like there is only one way to lvl...tsk tsk.....like i said, some input from you would be a big help, ways to trade, giving ideas, i have mine, im sticking to it, kingdom vs kingdom has to get up and running, even if it starts as a linkshell, it can be so much more.
red colored linkshell, San d'Oria blue colored, Bastok green colored, Windurst..lets make this the primary rule, that city linkshells stay the color,
consider this, logging on, and you see the linkshell msg pop up, hello San d'Orians, welcome to KVK3, 3rd chapter of sandoria, FL (frontline) = jugnar forest.
that would mean that people in the linkshell KVKthree that their linkshell has decided to attack jugnar area in hopes to take control.... you could have different idea about that stuff, but i think it should be common knowledge on each LS. so everyone knows what eachother is talking about...so each linkshell can communicate, maybe join with the other linkshells in the area. ( FL= jugnar forest, ALLIE= KVK6,KVK13) something like that... farmin would be pretty much done with your linkshell, like i said in my first post, you could have low lvl people collecting the supplies from the front lines, running it back to the city, where it can be processed by the crafters...depending on the materials...basic materials will go to the apprentices, who skill up by crafting into secondary material, who trade it off to an intermediate, who crafts it ito a high end material, then gives it to a master how makes a weapon, armor, or anything that would help the city,(we got new recruits, high demand for leather armors,)..if all kinks where worked out..everyone followed the "way" trading between cities would be the way to make money, high lvls traveling between cities to buy supplies, because your country has that area under your control...you see a blue dot...its a bastokian... a ls follows him, provokes his monsters, or something to show hes un wanted...BY ALL MEANS NO SWEARING OR HARRASSMENT but subtle..like...you shouldn't be here by yourself...your out matched...if a country is gonna need that area later..because a lower lvl is gonna quest in there...they gather their forces, give the nessary order msg to all followers, that their gonna attack this area...then attack it...staying their for days..log on..kill alot of monsters, check the influence, and try and get it up...you see the red bar of your city...your losing, you call in reinforcements...a red dot runs in.. just a sandorian...sees all the blue dots of the bastok linkshell...and calls in the crowd...people killing mass monsters...low levels curing the hurt... or running supplies back and forth.. to keep the frontline going as much as possible..............seems impossible....whats to change?...besides they way we play?.....i know giving up money will be the hardest thing...but a city needs to talk a couple of days...and talk....organize....make the linkshells one by one....grouping up and make the teams....there is no leadership yet...think of the possiblilties....i will post more...by all means this one has got me going and i could go on..but ill let this twirl in your head..some feedback please..of course...tell me im crazy or tell me im king...but i think it will make the game fun..and nothing has to be changed...just how people talk to eachother....a city needs to talk....and trade together...be as one...like i said...i will start posting world pass numbers if its allowed and people can join me in caitsith...join a country...help spread the ls..copy this msg and put it in another forum..do what ever...get the msg out....and dont forget the feedback....
i pondered some more, i have alot of figuring out to do,
1. find a system of city trade, i figure a couple of groups will be formed, crafters, fighters, buyers/sellers. could be more indepth. but main money source should be from other cities. rank 5 people who have a airship pass will be visiting each city for different occaisions...several occasions..the auction house should be used to sell the items that our country can get because we own that region.. if San d'Oria owned ronafure , they would be bring in alot of sheep skins, where bastok would bring in more lizard skins, and windurst brings alot of silk. each country needs these materials. thats when the country has an edge, where people will come to purchase the silk, the leather. its where it becomes more indepth, where a country owns alot of land, it has more to offer to other cities, making the people wealthy. wealth should be looked at per city, not per person. i cannot stress enough about sharing...about not caring about gil...it might be so tuff...but ya gotta let it go...its not about the money...go play online poker if ur in it to make silly numbers.....i dont get campers...why compete with 10000 other players that go on and off 24/7.....it just makes it a little hard dont it....kind puts it into perspective...ten thousand people...one monster...equipment thats rare, should be the wealth of the country..a system where city members that arent using equipment let someone else use it...because it will help in the fight....it will give that edge in battle...when a country comes to take over an area..and the city sends its best fighters out to protect it..since the city already owns it..crafters could go into full throttle...making armors and equipment to reinforce.. or to donate at the outpost..increasing the influence, making it hard to take over...if things get intense...if sciffs are made...or someones pride is shot..take it up in ballista...where the finest go to settle whos, who in the world...whos city is the strongest...who can take every region..its up to you...to be apart of a city....working together..where our highest lvls fight for higher areas,..fighters...interest in killing the beasts...hand over materials to a different person..who runs it back to the city..so the fight can continue..from their the materials go to the repective guilds..where people will chill back and watch the runners come in with supplies...they start with low levels, crafting easy items and equipment, which is either sent off to new players or passed to be upgraded or sold off as extra to opposing cities.. time is not wasted if you dont have to craft all the small stuff..to get better items. more time for fighting if you get your equipment handed to you....not worried about gil..because everyone does their part in some way..i dont think it would get out of hand...more areas means the cities spread apart...weakening each area...strategy for each city as they need a certain material...one person should not go out to opposing region...only to have monsters provoked away from you...so their is no point...you must attack as a city...where numbers count....a runner gets back to the city..to warn the others...battles for monsters begin.......it can go on for days....the battle of the bar...as it fluctuates as monsters are killed...a city might wasted all its materials to save one area...while days away another area gets attacked...and there is shortage in donations....strategy comes into play......where the fighters have to be tough.....higher levels...could help out...but they might be needed somewhere else...to fight or protect...or craft....or plan...besides, why have higher levles doing small stuff, and not collecting crystals..which..btw..should just be passed to crafters, unless, needed for quests, or extra, to sell to another country,....think i forgot about jeuno..that hell hole....the people there...worrying about money....when we can get them out there to fight with us...where jueno wont lag so much...because of all the people....countries will join to do quests...make alliances, plan balistas, plan chocobo races, maybe, work together to take out a all to powerful country..plan an assault...sneak whole armies into an area without getting spotted........but instead...youd much rather worry about how much gil you have......i'm Xynth , and i approve this message maybe ......caitsith the server..will change it all...maybe you can change your server...but it should start with one...get it done...and then well ask square enix for a traveling carnival, with cinematic rides and chocobo races...lol....who knows...but KINGDOM vs KINGDOM....it can happen...just gotta try...
W00t im on Caitsith. The idea sounds awesome. If you make the LS ill be happy to join.

Can someone please make me a sig. I would like it to have something to do with an eagle(the bird) Somewhere near the eagle can you put the words "Global Defense Initiative". Could you also have the line "If you can't buff up, don't step up!". Thanks!
Private Message me about it!
From what I notice and read about everyone servers is the inflation of the higher end items. There is a fairly simple way to eliviate all the problems with the price fixing/inflation. STOP BUYING! It is simple economics really. There is a supply and a demand for a certain item, at a low price there will be more people who want to buy it and when it is very expensive there are fewer. What needs to happen is that if people are complaining about the prices, have people get together and stop buying from certain people and buying things at a certain price. That will force the people who sell the items to lower their price otherwise it wont get any better.
For example:
Item XYZ cost $100 and they sell like hotcakes
Someone then thinks "well if I raise it by $5, they will sell and I will make a few extra bucks"
After a while people will all raise their price and there you have it, inflation. This repeats itself until prices are just outrageous (which on some items are).
Just my opinion on how to fix the prices.
Xynth here,
ive decided to start in San d'Oria. i will be making several red linkshells (KVK1SO)(KVK2SO)(KVK3SO) (Kingdom vs Kingdom 1 San d'Oria) 2,3 etc. i dont know how i should sort people..but i wish to get 2 linkshells, 12 people each ls, out hunting and gather materials. maybe change LS to (SandOrianSoldiers1, 2, 3..) (SandOrianCrafter1, 2, 3..) (SandOrianfarmer1, 2, 3,..)(SandOrianQuesters1, 2, 3..)(SandOrianCitizen)
Soldier- Linkshell coordinates attacks on regions across the map, regions may have many areas where influence can be obtained, thus making the armies strategy come into play. the area that holds the outpost of the region will most likely be where a city defends the area...extra equipment can be donated to outposts of your lcity to increase influence, the better the equipment, the more influence you get for it..since influence is what counts when battling for a region...mass amounts of equipment might be donated to an outpost because the area has alot of value to the city. making it tougher to take, more mobs have to be killed. signet has to be used for all soldiers. they are the first wave, and main source of materials that are unique to a cities usual materials. make any sense?
Crafters- Linkshell that handles materials, they can travel with soldiers onto the feild, backing them up with items or on the spot better weapons (as soon as u get the peice of material when attacking an area, make it into a weapon, to pass onto the soldiers). make potions or ninjitsu tools...but most of all, they make the cities worth.. crafters decide what craft they want to work with, depending on what the city has to offer. the crafters will "hangout" in the guilds..pretty much just a common area where materials from battles and farmers come in..the way i see it..everything a city has, should be shared...i know, i know..its hard to grasp that concept..but when people bring in materials to the crafters..for free....the gaps in crafting recipes are filled by other members of the city..so little money is spent on crafting as possible...and the crafter doesnt have to break even from buying materials , and the equipment and items are given to soldiers, because they fight the battles.
Farmers- they go to areas under their cities control, to level as a party (farm exp), and collect the resources the region has to offer, giving your city different materials and a constant supply of crystals and basic materials. the linkshell could make a week into seperate things a city could do as a group. ei monday- farm mobs, tuesday-raise level/skill,wednsday- log, mine, harvest,. etc...or whatever..they will also most likely be the first to see an oncoming city, attacking an area, they have a responsibilty, as a citizen, to warn the city, so the city can plan as quickly as possible what to do.
Questers- linkshell gathers to do missions, quests, BCNM , advanced jobs, NM..they are one voice in the city, the linkshells work together and take on any quest available to them,..keep in mind, quest should be done only in regions the city owns..giving more reason to HAVE to attack an area...make it a rule..a city cannot do a quest in another cities region...the city has to attack it and take it over...and then the questers and farmers then come to the area..
Citizen- jueno is where the 3 cities come together.. and citizens of each country allie together for quests that require mixed nation. citizens will bring unique armors and materials to jeuno from their own city..to get gil, and to trade mass amounts of materials from other citizens, example- Sandoria citizen buys 20 stacks of silk from a Windurst Citizen. maybe find it fair to trade sheepskins straight over for silk threads...but Citizens are the connections to each city. i think that you cannot be a citizen until you are rank 5..where you have an airship pass...so you can travel inbetween cities trading..and since "city" gil will be handled..rank 5 is a good point that can be trusted..and online dependibilty is high. a rule should be that Citizen pearls can only be given to those of rank 5.
other comments-
gil- not to be worried about...this system rids the HIGH need for gil per person. making city "prices", not individual ones. gil is made from exporting your cities goods into another city...cities need gil to buy materials a city might offer that yours can't..if a city is being stingy, and not putting up extras for sale, then they wont have that extra money flow another city might have. giving them an advantage in battle over areas.
-sharing is caring- when your a soldier...your top priority when it comes to equipment....a city should equip its soldiers to the max...so they put up the best fight possible. rare equipment should be traded to whoever is going out to join the fight....load them up with extra equipment to donate or take to the frontline.....pretty much stop calling it "yours"..because its the cities....this way...you can change jobs often...whatever the city is demand for..and you wont have to hold all the equipment, for each lvl and job in your mog safe...or have to spend money (1 more dollar) on a mule. instead you can have ur moghouse full of plants and furniture for moghancements..more room to store extra armors if ur on and a city attacks an area...you grab it and run out there to donate it.with more room it means you can carry more linkshells...making this possible... there should be only extra equipment when the farmers and questers are equiped or have stocked. with maybe a couple extra for new players. a city would be in full potential when there is so much equipment that it doesnt matter if someone is logged off..because there is ample supply all around
Auction house- where a city puts its extra armors and exclusive items, where citizens from other cities come to buy materials they cant farm,
Ballista- you on the battlefield...and someone tickin u off...take it up in ballista...hold tournments and win prize money for your country
what about the gil- crafters will be collecting most of the gil, from selling the extras, they turn this money over to citizens who take it and buy materials that are needed...before a citizen logs off, they split it up among other citizens or crafters so it can be used if needed..
thats gonna be the tricky part in starting...timespans...you cant be on all the time...so things have to be traded alot more often....if you have any comments or ideas...post them up id like to read what you think...and if im missing anything...im sure minor things will work themselves out...but this is pretty much the basics..
thanks for taking the time to read this...you may copy and paste this in other forums..
this is going down first in server caitsith..im want to know if people are up for it..and if they want to transfer over to caitsith..ill get a world pass and post it up here
Firstly before i flame this post with all its flaws, I am a 68WHM/34SMN, played this game since its release in the US, nothing to brag about, just to tell you I know what Im talking about when I state some things about the game in this post.
Firstly, yes this gameis based on gil, but then again every other game is also based on a form of currency, name on mmo that isnt?
I will address the problems in order that they are on the table.
From level 1 you are given all the opportunities to gain money, through the variation of quests or the auction house, or simply selling items to the npcs. This is the first advantage of being a new player, it is easy to get a lot of moeny, and most which you dont need in a short period of time.
20k, 40k, 80k, hell lets make it 1mil. These items are crafted, and you know why? because the time that it took for a player to level their craft skill from level 0 to level 50 make it all worth it, not to mention 50% of the time the items are usually making a loss for the crafters. All their items usually are self farmed, and self made. I have a woodworking skill of 50+ I farm my own needs for shihei to level ninja, I also farm my own needs for ranger, arrows, down to the bow.
As for armour I pay for my own armour, why? because I respect that they have spent their time leveling the craft to make the armour which is worth wearing. Otherwise I would have started the raf adn leveled it.
You can start any craft with no use of money, so there is no excuse for you to complain about the prices of items on teh auction house, if you dont want to buy the item, then dont, level up the crafting skill and make the armour yourself.
Secondly, your post about japanese code? that is no true. The standard code on all computer(yes even the ones in japan, or china) are standardised to american code. ASCII as they call it, look it up sometime, so there is no way that there can be "Japanese only hacking because the game was written in japanese"
As for parties and no one caring who is in the party other than a white mage, aparently you havnt leveled very far past valkurm dunes, or gotten very farm in crawlers nest. A party structure is very important at about 41 upwards. VERY important, then at about level 50 or 60 the party structures are definedand prefered, but yes you are right a WHM is prefered, though at a higher level SMNers and red mages are a good idea to have in a pt.
You want examples and evidence? Any mage past level 41 will want a red mage or a bard in their party to refresh them, while a ninja will only accept a pt with a thief for sata so that they can keep hate on them. A party structure is everything after 41 in final fantasy. It isnt just about chucking a party together out of no where with a war tank and expect that everyone should live. Paladin, ninja, white and red mage seperate the line of life and death for a ptand whether it is successful or unsuccessful.
You cannot get high levels to interact with the lower levels on all levels and platforms. Why? for one, one party loses out in the end, while the other party gains, there is also the problem that the lower levels become too dragged down for the higher levels to drag around. Being a White mage, I have encountered this a lot with the idea that low levels like to ask higher levels that they want them to "do a quest" for them, it usually ends up that the lower level des too much and would have been worth itif they were with a group of their own levels in numbers than to be by themselves.
jumping ahead, to address the fact of subjobs, the idea for subjobs is that you are given teh abilities which other jobs arent given, for instance a specific ability which one wants to be a paladin is that they level warrior so that their paladin job can be effective as a tankw ith provoke. Yes a paladin doesnt have provoke as an ability, thus the warrior job. Warrior is just about a necessary for any main job which is melee, only until you are about level 24 should those jobs look for exploring different subjobs and wht abilities may grant them.
A mage for instance has the ability to have as theri subjob any mage job, summoner, white mage, black mage, red mage, even bard. each can mix and match to a different job perfectly. The reson for leveling low level jos to 30 before you get an advance job is so that you have slected hte right job, as a subjob your old main job whether it be warrior no will take your advance job to level 60 without having to care for your subjob. The majority of subjobs at level 50+ are thief, or warrior ourt of the beginners jobs.
Sharing: Your first problem is that retrieving materials can be harder than what is expected. I am not saying this through the experience of NM camping, but through the experience of logging and farming for items which are neeed, especially when there are so many pieces to make one large piece, not to metion about 10 other people from the same country(as your explanation may be) tryingto fill the same quota.
The ability to have three different levels of crafters is irrelevant, a high level crafter can craft all the items in theri category as they like. Also through contacts, the ability to craft other items these maybe such items as smithing outside woodworking is that the items are usually made by contacts, and also te ability to mix the two compounds together requires smithing anyway, otherwise the product has a 50% failure chance.
There is such a thing in F called HQ armour, high quality, this is the special armour which comes around rarely, and the value of this armour is a lot higher because of its advantages over normal equipment whcih may fufill a sligtly lesser role, the problem with pooling equipment is that it will always be used, if you have ever seen a HNMLS work, you would see that the LS does pool their equipment already, and those which are multipuly needed are bought throught eh linkshell by hunting high level NM's for money and thus how equipment is fuffilled, otherwise there are many high end crafters which you are talkin about existing in these linkshells to perform the synthing of the needed products.
At all levels, there is always more than two different ways to level, but as soloing isnt an option for most levels at the low end, usually the parties gather together at valkurm dunes, it is the central area and also closest ot eh majority of cities, bastokians dont have to walk so far, windurstians have bubumaru plains, but getting their subjob items are alot harder than getting the ones on valkurm dunes, as fighting a bogy is a lto harder with physical resistance than a ghoul with blood suck.
If you restrict the ability of the game for players to be only placed in a kingom vs kingdom where one cant access the other kingdom freely, then there is no point in actually playing to have fun. This is what ballista is for, you want kingdom vs kingdom then you can participate in the ballista matches, hey you even get exp for the amount of points you score, yay, you can level up that way too.
Here we go with the sandorian in jugner forest, problem 1, the low levels will be absolutely wasted in running through jugner forest, as you may have forgotten already a respawn time with the monsters, the low level newbies will run into them and thus your supply line will stop unless you have your limited high levels running back and forward throughout jugner forest, after all it is a very large place and people can get lost.
Who runs the supplies for the higher level armours such as the adaman ores for the adaman armour for a level 75 paladin? A low level surely cant do that through quicksand caves, or the raptor skins obtained from cape terrigan or kuftal tunnel, no low level can run through that, what happens if a haunt agros? or a crab agros? not even an early level 70 could run through there without encountering something which can kill him/her.
So far the post sounds as though you want to drag the higher levels down to help the lower levels, but as you may have realised, the lower levels may lose out through experience points, conquest points and also materials.
Orare you sugesting that we degrade all the zones to have a set of monsters ranged from 1 to lvl X in each zone so that the low levels may stand a higher chance of survival while traveling through each zone?
I can tell you inside the den of rancor, not even being level 75 is safe, that is what make the game like this, and that is why there is a demand a high demand on expensive armour, because peopl eneed that armour, and people need it to survive, there cant be some little low level s running around, because they will die instantly, and once they die instantly, they either are attempted ot be raised or home point and lose experience.
For each city, if you havnt noticed, they all have their specialty in a few of the crafts, sandoria has woodworking, and leather working, hence the resources which are close by, it may also take advantage in the making of smithing hatchets, pickaxes whateveris needed.
Windurst has cloth crafting and cooking, they also have fishing as a guild there, if you havent noticed. The harvesting for cloth crafting is done in giddeus along with the bird and yagudo fletchlings. While the cooking is all supported by the guild.
Bastok last but not least, has the guilds of alhemy, gold smithing and smithing having al the resources close by in order to call upon to use, there is no downside for starting a craft in either of these guilds. As you can see now each city would specialise in its own fom of craft.
Do you know why NM's are hunted? just for their items to sell? Then you are wrong, if they are hunted for their items just to sell why are they being sold? and who is buying them? These items are needed for certain jobs and yes they do give a defined edge over the same job without that particular item. These items are rare because they are out of the ordinary for toher jobs to have. Yes the emporers pin is actually used, but a low level first's job would not be able to see that, all they would do is see the price and drop their mouths. A peacocks charm is used a lot it is worth every gil you pay fo rit, ever 15mil which you buy it for. Why? because it enhances your steal effect, and thus give you a greater long time return of items than what you originally paid for.
Cafters cant make these special items, that is why they are at such a high demand, and cost, if crafts could make these items, then the demand wouldnt be as high and these items wouldnt be the focus of this current portion fo the topic.
Jeuno is -not- entirely spent on selling items, it is the largest central city of vanadiel, its laggy because that is where everyone gathers, port jenoe supplies the people to travel there, and thus this is where the higher elvels gather and form parties before they head out to the leveling areas. What you are trying ot do is reduce the advantage of high levels getting into a party by only restricting them to their own city. This greatly reduces the numbers of players which one can pt with, and also in the long run disadvantages the high level players form gaining a party, as any pyramid of power, the numbers geatly reduce as the pyramid progresses towards the peak with a few more people below the level of those.
Gil is the form of way, there is a lot ot handle in the gil state, where it is always used, chocobos, you pay gil to use them, goblin bag upgrades, you pay to gain them, outpost items to purchase(though more expensive) you pay to obtain them.
I seen you Xynth in lower jeuno procliming how the auction house should reduce its prices, but what about yourself? if you are proclaiming about the reduction of gil, why dont you become self sufficient, go find high level crafters, farm the items yourself and gain the items whic you need that way? If you are so persistent to drop the way of play where everyone is helping each other, ther eis your start.
Go out, collect the items which you need to craft and then proceed by taking them to a high level crafter and asking them if they can make the item for you... or what? cant you be bothered to go out and be self sufficient? cant you go out and farm your own items? With an attitude of pooling items, sounds like one who likes to take advantage and let the lesser people do all the work, so that they can sit back and relax on a pedastool of treasures.
Your ideas are flawed in quite a few ways, you need to play a bit more, and rethink those ideas when you are at least level 50 with a good sense in crafting. I know a handful of people who were self sufficient and they had leveled up all their crafts past 40, so you believe you are trying to create a perfect world, but you are ruining it for many.
