So I just attempted to restart my FFXI account, and I noticed that they ONLY accept credit cards associated with "Verified by Visa" or "Mastercard Mastercode" programs... This was bad, since neither of my credit cards were under those programs, even though they were infact Visa & Mastercard credit cards.
Does anyone know if FFXIV will use the same type of payment authorization methods? If so, this is bad, cause, well, for me personally it means I will have to go out and get myself a brand new credit card just so that I can play FFXIV.

The secure card requirement for XI was implemented because I believe PlayOnline got hacked at some point or something. Not entirely sure if it was hacked, but that's what I recall hearing at some point.
XIV won't be using Playonline, so I can't imagine they'll have that as a requirement again.
It was a bad move for XI though, lot of players who wanted to play the game couldn't simple because their cards didn't qualify to even register it for the secure card thing.
hope they send out prepaid cards also or game time cards whatever you prefer to use
i hate paying with credit cards you never can trust it 100%
You may be able to destroy planets, but you can never destroy what I am, friend. I am the hope of the universe, I am the answer to all living things that cry out for peace. I am the protector of the innocent, I am the light in the darkness, I am truth. ALLY TO GOOD, NIGHTMARE TO YOU
There are prepaid cards on germany, im not sure if they will have it for the rest of the areas.

The credit card verification only affects North American PC users. I can change my payment method as much as I want on my 360 without being bothered with it. FFXIV will most likely use the same method unfortunately which means I am gonna have to get around and contacting my credit card company about it (tried and failed on registering it with VBV.../sigh)
