Founded by a core group of gamers from the guild Hostage, (which was a leading content completer on the Alonsus server of World of Warcraft for numerous years), Acumen is now completely dedicated to consolidating and expanding on it's strong, thriving community, and getting prepared for the release...of TOR!







Essential Applicant Information

• 
  Acumen has no age limit (We strongly believe in exceptions to the rule!)
• 
  Members must be willing to download applications/mods required by the guild
• 
  Members should have a working microphone, and be willing to speak on ventrilo (also currently testing teamspeak 3)
• 
  Members are expected to be persistently active on our guild forums, as well as attend our weekly game nights.
• 
  Members must have reasonable fluency in English.
• 
  Members must have prior raiding experience (or similar).

It should be emphasized that failure to comply to any of our requirements will ultimately result in dismissal from the guild. It is therefore worth thoroughly reading through the guild manual, in the interest of making sure Acumen truly is the home for you.





End-Game Progression



As a team of gamers, Acumen takes success in raiding very seriously, placing content completion at the forefront of our goals. As such, it is imperative that any prospective members share our passion for success in this element of gameplay.

• 
  Acumen holds the view that gear is a means to achieve progression, not an end unto itself.
• 
  A minimum of 60% attendance to raids is required by all members.

Player Vs Player Department



PvP within Acumen is viewed as a side-interest, as well as a nice variation to our activities when not raiding. Regardless, we still have numerous competitive PvPers within our ranks, and as such expect impressive feats from our PvP department in the future.

• 
  It is not compulsory for any member to participate in PvP.
• 
  PvP will be approached with a relaxed mentality, but will still be participated in competitively.
