UI Lag..... Extreme

Game runs smooth, graphics look great, FPS Is really high...

 

All of that being said I can move the mouse from point A to point B and it takes forever for it to catch up. Now I know that everyone has already stated this, and I too have sumitted reports to SE and offered to try anything as this is the MAJOR fallback I have with the game currently.. It drives me freakin' crazy.

 

My question is, has anyone at all found a magic config change or some magic setting to reduce UI lag to nothing? I sure hope so, because right now it's so annoying that I just simply cannot play.

    Well the UI lag did get alittle better today with that mini patch.

    Merchant window now only take like 5 sec to get up instead of former 10 lol. The lag is also due to that the UI seem to be "server" based. it asks the server first then it executes from client. most games are the other way around.

    And the beta servers are in Japan, from EU thats a standard ping of 300

    In all fairness the mouse is slow but it aint a gamebreaker i have gotten used to it.

    As far as i can see we that use mouse still have a huge advantage over pad users that have to cycle though everything.

    What really janks my chain is that there is no remember skill from class uve used. have to setup the skills all over again, if u dont use a macro that will do it for ya

    I guess it's just one of those OCD type things... but I just HATE to move a mouse and it not move w/ me but yet a second or two later...

     

    ughh!!! but yes, it did get a little better today.

    Not yet, hopefully open beta client will speed things up... on the ui side of things... the mouse won't be fix til after release.

    Did you read this somewhere from devs or is this just assumed?

     

    (if it's assumed, I would agree with you. If it's from the dev's, that's a damn shame)

    kinda word of mouth for the Linkshell I joined.

    There is a bunch things SE has running in the background, used to monitor things for testing and bugs fix and such... they are going to turn them off... and that should speed up the UI.

    It's all 2nd hand info tho.. so it could be wrong.

    Well if they are running debugging software in the background and i think they are. we wont see the effect of it turned of until 22nd or 30th sep.

    Wondering tho if all servers will be located in jap after release because that would suck

    That would suck really bad. If memory serves me right, you all can probably tell me, that's the way FFXI was..... wasn't it?

    until SE decides to not use software mouse you will always have this type of lag with the mouse pointer.  I don't get why they decided to use this feature instead of the hardware mouse.  It's more responsive and less frustrating, god knows I hate accidently hitting something I didn't want to hit using the mouse or even worst me moving my mouse only to sit there and wait a half second for the pointer to catch up.  Some may see it as OCD but personally it's why I haven't played much of the beta because the menu system, mouse control and having to hit the accept button 3 times to accept a quest seems a little overkill.
