I just want to know why MMORGP.com gave it such a low rating, for one, its free to play, with some of the best graphics i have ever seen for a F2P game, its action, and you can use multiple different controlers for it,(which is so awesome!) So i just want to know why it didnt beat the rest of em,i mean Wonderking?played it,boring,Puzzle Pirates? seriously? thats a browser game for 10 year olds!Dragonica? -.- if you dont agree with me,thats fine, but if just a little more people knew about Vindictus? its population would explode, this is a serious wow assassin,in my opinion

reasons I can think of, first it a nexon hosted game, other games are comming too so people would prefer that games, mabinogi game style with better grafics and diferent art, people here don't like to P2W games too,
also hype means nothing, just that amount of people are waiting and pretty much will complain after the game is out because its not what they was waiting
Uh, the people who visit the site gave it that rating, not the site runners.
Ask the 83 people who ( at the time of this post ) voted on it...

Maybe because it is "F2P" ???
ok what does P2W mean? i couldnt find anything on the web,and i didnt know that the hype/rating came from the people, shouldnt it be moderated? i mean i wouldnt really call puzzle pirates a mmo....by definition, sure, but theres not a stable quest system,at least since i played about 12-18 months ago,it just seemed like a huge money grabber

P2W = pay to win. i.e. the cash shop is geared so that in order for you to be competitive you are forced to spend money in the item store.
"Come and have a look at what you could have won."
From what I've heard, it's rather heavily instanced, there are only two classes, said classes are gender-locked and are unlikely to change much in appearance, and there are some funny restrictions on how many dungeons you can participate in in one day.
That said, it looks fairly decent, and I'll definitely be giving it a try.
this game has leet cinematic, i need to read about Vindictus, thx for pointing
what is death penalty btw? does it hurt to die?
Playing: Rohan
Played (from best to worst): Shadowbane, Guild Wars, Shayia, Age of Conan, Warhammer, Runes of Magic, Rappelz, Archlord, Knight online, King of Kings, Kal online, Last chaos
I think that rating is generous, I watched the videos and screenshots and backgrounds/scences are nice, about what you expect with something running the Source engine but the characters looked kinda craptastic to me, To each his own eh? Seems to have pretty fast paced combat but heavily instanced (outside of the towns) and very repetitive combat. Overall it's looking like a decent game but only time will tell. A WoW killer? I highly doubt it and I'm not a big fan of WoW.
If you die, your party can rez you. If your party wipes then you have to start the dungeon over. If your in a dungeon that costs you tokens and you wipe, you get them back so you don't get punished that way. The only punishment of getting hit / dying is the durability of your armor, the more your armor breaks, it breaks easier down the road cause even if your armor breaks in a dungeon, you can repair it on the fly and it gets repaired after the dungeon also but the condition of it gets worse over time.
Really dont see what the big fuss about this game is, i mean it aint really even a mmo in my opinion, its just a lobby based game with lots of instanced dungeans you can go in with a couple of friends, and only 2 or 3 classes that you cant change the look of gender off.
Yeah the fighting looks nice but thats about it.
Is it even advertised as a MMO? Thought it was advertised as something else like an Action RPG.
And, gender locking... meh.
I suppose that if the gameplay is good the rating will eventually raise when people get to play the game, that is, if the cash shop doesn't try to pull an Allods on you.
And why is this game now on the most anticipated list? It's the most shallow game I've ever played.
I really really hate it when people trash a game when its not even out yet,for a completely F2P game(besides a cash shop, and i dont think theres going to be a huge P2W emphasis),the graphics could use a bit more detail, but the whole, pick up anything and use it as a weapon, its so awesome, and its only gender locked because of the story, and i cant really think of many F2P mmo's that have even a decent story, and by definition yes it is an mmo,its massive, multiplayer and online, and they will probably fix the gender locking later on,since everyones over-reacting about it

Then you must not have played many games in your life.
And how is it shallow?

8 out of 10 doesn't seem like a bad rating, especially since there isn't much that has been released about it. Since it's from Nexon (FTP MMO publisher), I'm surprised it got anything remotely decent from this crowd.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Is it for EU?
This pretty much, nice combat, but no customisation kills it for me.
Guildwars 2 is doing everything vindictus does but better. Yes this game is free, but who knows how free =p
8 out of 10 is a big number and it's more annoying that people can't stand reviews under 90% in the gaming world -_-
<Welcome to my world>
Can you play it in the Eu?

What do you mean no customization? There is customization for your look and your skills, you just can't change your gender. Also GW2 is a completely different type of game in comparison to Vindictus. For one thing GW2 uses a psudo-action combat system which still uses a target system and is meant to be an open world MMO where Vindictus is full action combat with no targeting and is a dungeon runner. Final point is that GW2 isn't even in beta stages so anything about it is speculative till you actually play it for a while to see how good it is.
so like DDO but with more limited char development?, but will not limit content to only who get some cash?
I got to enjoy the beta myself, and while i am looking forward to GW2 like everyone else and a couple of the other upcoming titles. But with that being said this game really impressed me. Problem is too many people come into these games with a certain predefined expectation of what a game should be as opposed to simply enjoying a game for what it is.
This game was actually really fun. The vids dont do it justice. The gameplay itself is the best part of this game. Its exciting and gets you hyped up and even a little stressed at points when your trying to pull out a victory from near defeat. But it leaves you satisfied. I cant think of too many games where ive had that edge of my seat gameplay feeling. It truly is a more skill based game that plays more like your on a console. Basically similar to what Tera is trying to be but in a F2P format with more of a diabloesque hub/instanced setup. If that is a deal breaker for you in a game, i pity you. I get that this is mmorpg.com and people come here for such and have this belief that instancing puts a game outside being an mmo, but to not be able to apreciate any other kind of game is just shallow and sad. This game looks to be worth a few afternoons if nothing else. While playing the beta i was trying to figure out how a cash shop could be implemented and i have a hard time seeing one cause this game to become P2W. It is too skill based in gameplay.
And it does have alot of exciting mechanics. I especially loved the grappling moves you could do. like throwing mobs into each other, or slamming them face first into a nearby (destructable) wall, or picking them up and performing a back breaker, or stomping them in there stomach into a wall, or dragging them to a cliff and kicking them off. All accompanied by nice blood effects and the visceral sound of crunching bone(very well done sound). The game has pretty good physics. Also the environmental weapons are so much fun to use since there everywhere. I especially liked how damage was realistically relative to what you were hitting them with (throwing a plate=minor damage, Bashing them over the head with a concrete slab=instant kill in many cases).
Its a F2P game and ive certainly had enough experiences with those to not expect much, but this game genuinely surprised me. It puts alot of P2P games to shame.
Even though I have not had a chance to play it yet Nailzz, your mini-review is exactly what I felt after watching gameplay footage. I am not expecting any more out of this than a good F2P action multiplayer game. It does appear, however, they are dropping the sorceress in the NA version, which is no good for me. That is the class I really wanted to play!
[EDIT: I just looked at another site and they seem to have the impression the sorceress is in after all. I think maybe I was just mislead by the wiki site which had not yet announced the sorceress for Vindictus]
I hardly think that it will be even close to DDO,i played that game for maybe a day and got bored.I love dungeon running and the actual fighting basis for Vindictus is like consol gameplay,it reminds me alot of assassins creed 2,because you have a variety of weapons, not alot of classes(only 1 playable person in AC1&2),but it still is alot of fun,you can change your armor color(ive heard),many different ways to kill people, but in vindictus u can make your own armor, and make a really unique character, and as ive mentioned previously, usable turrain(you can pick up a clay jar and throw it,pick up a broken column and use it as a club, even use dead enemies as weapons!)i agree with Nailzz and Sinistrad, dont look at the negatives, but the possitives,or else you will never find an mmo,(none are perfect!)And i do believe it will be available in EU,but im not possitive, thats something to look up in the official Vindictus forums,im looking forward to open beta for sure

even though DDO is annoying and all, you have some nice equips customisations there, but its heavily instanced and you have to aim there and have several weapons to use, though only part they did there right almost at least is char dev who is the main party in dungeon and dragons but the rest is just less then ok or ok.
