Can guild wars create a revolution in mmorpg's

in Guild Wars

Guild wars will soon be released and it will contain all the same aspects of other mmorpg's except this will have no fee to pay at each month. If guild wars is a successful game then will over developers consider making more mmorpg's but with out the monthly fees.

    well, for one time, its not a normal mmorpg, it has element taken away in the game that makes mmorpgs so annyoing (spawning, trvelaing)

    second, it will be sucessful, very poplur

    so thus, yea, more games will try to copy GW, but i alwasy like GW betta

    Guild Wars could do for a stagnant genre what Counter Strike did for first person shooter titles!!image

    imageYeah this game will rock, then after the other companies see how good it is and how many people got the game because they have no montly fees they will do all the rest of  MMORPGs:

     1) They will stop charching montlyimagefees                                              

     2) They will also use the slick streaming technology that  the game developers use for GW, so noneone will have to dowload patches because they dowload automatically while your playingimage

    Do u think the big titles such as world of warcraft and everquest will follow in the footsteps of no monthly fees. Would the games such as world of warcraft be able to change there policy on fee's and make it free?

    I doubt they will change as long as they keep making money. We all just have to hope Guild Wars draws the hardcore MMO'ers away for awhile. We can only pray.::::08::

    guild wars should attract the mmorpg players as it will be another mmorpg but with out the fee, Guild wars should attract loads of people as there are lot of people in the world who won't play mmorpg's because of the fees. I have lots of friends but there are only 1 or 2 that actually pay for a game every month but i know that alot of my friends will buy guild wars because there is no fee.

    it is almost impossible to create a persistant world game with no montly fee. What GW might do is open up another genre based around small groups of online players playing in instanced zones with no monthly fee. It depends whether the MMO wants to be a 'story/quest' based game or whether it wants to be an immersive world game. WoW's running costs are far too high for it ever to be F2P, it remains to be seen whether Guild Wars' financial model can sustain costs yet...

    PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...

    Guild Wars will be the best, hands down. Especially with the expansion every year, the game will be around a while I am hoping.

    The only thing we really have to worry about is that GW won't make enough money, even with expansions to keep up hundreds of thousands of people all on one server. They pulled off B.Net, hopefully this will work out too.

    I believe it already has with more than 450,000 pre release sales in the world it has a new record in pre game release sales at $50.00 each they start out with $ 22,500,000.00 in sales thats 22 million U.S. Dollars. and plans of a first expansion by the end of summer another 12 million projected( at aprox $30.00 each)
    for a total sales for the first 6 months estimated to be colse to $35 million dollars U.S. that is twice what WoW will make this year with subsciption in come and total sales. A revolution HA! HA! HA! HA! how about the childern eating their mother. GUILD WARS will rule the world of MMORPG's.

    Don't pull on a Dragons tail you never know where it's been!!
