End of Nations: End of Nations at Syndicon

MMORPG.com writer Angie Webb recently attended the Syndicon meet up in San Diego, California. While there, Angie had a chance to check out End of Nations, a new MMORTS currently in development by Petroglyph and set to be published by Trion Worlds. Angie has news and information about the game to share so be sure to check it out to see how End of Nations is progressing.

During my visit to Syndcon 2010, I was shown a variety of games. The most interesting was End of Nations. It’s currently being produced by Petroglyph in Las Vegas, Nevada under the watchful eye of Trion. Gary Wagner, Senior Producer of EoN at Trion, showed us a trailer and talked about the game, but unfortunately, we did not have a demo to play.

I like the concept of this game and hope that it all works out

Pretty sure this isn't the first mmorts. I'd like to see how the basebuilding works (if there is any) the last effort I saw was quite unbalanced around the veterans.

Would be nice if they made the tanks more realistic and had an air and infantry commander (expansion?)

I hope good luck for the devs on this, it's nice to see people trying new(ish) things.

as stated this is not the first mmorts. couldn't get past that in your article sorry. will check out the game on my own though because the first MMORTS I played i very much enjoyed and have been looking for something similar for years.

    Not much about PvP...

Isn't it mainly pvp with a big enemy force to attack/defend against  ? (maybe they will attack people that grow too big so newer players have a chance? that's a pretty good idea imo...)

After a little research, I've found that Petroglyph is ex-Westwood, so suddenly I have more faith in this game, experience is priceless.

Sounds like a great concept.  I will definitely keep my eye on this.

There are signs of something new here which I can only applaud, plenty of time to go yet till we see anything really substantial though.

Good concept....not a big fan of the execution from what I've read of it so far.... no infantry, no cover, no occupying buildings, giant land battle-ships as your opposition. Some of the roles/strategy seem reversed from what they should be. Also reads a bit like they are going with a Holy-Trinity-esque system.

In other words, the strategy game portion of it doesn't sound like it is very well designed....at least from the aspect of some-one used to more traditional wargames.

First of its kind?  No way!  I was absolutely playing a huge European-based 4X space MMORTS in 1999 over a 56K modem before I got DSL and seriously got interested in MMORPGs.
