Can we sign up or not?

in Final Fantasy XIV

I have a square enix account, I sign in, and then go to FFXIV webpage and click on apply for beta..  I get a page filled with "Please read before you apply" information.  I've spent 45 minutes screwing around and going to every link I can find on that page..  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

 

I mean what the hell are they thinking? There is no button leading anywhere further than that.  It's like an extremely ****ed up trick designed to piss people off. (Or maybe just dumb people like me.. Maybe there is some obvious answer I'm missing.. Either way, please help me out.)

    The answer is hidden in the part your supposed to read before applying:

     

    "Starting on Sep. 1, 2010 at 19:00 (PDT), acquisition of registration code required for FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test will be available."

     

    I understand that it doesn't say it explicitly but what this means is that starting at this time Registration will go up which will allow you to get the keys.  Until then, you can't register.

    Basically you wont be able to apply untill that time... i guess..

    Is there anywhere to download the client or an installer yet? I have the one off file planet but it looks like its trying to download a patch now for hours and is still at 0.0% and connected to no remote peers.

    Thanks, I did hurriedly skim through the page multiple times.  I guess I just figured that after reading an article saying "Registration open for FFXIV Open Beta", that it meant that the registration was open...  for FFXIV open beta...

    download Client, has me at 27hours till done,  im now half way done, AAARGH!
