Thats instantly loaded after I click the 'Apply for open beta testing' button
This is to the same for me, instantly. IE, FF and Chrome. Doesn't matter. Are people just refreshing the 'busy' page or are they going back to the entry page and hitting the apply again?
i used chrome as IE8 times out too fast....
and when it did timeout i would just reload the page till it came up... it eventually went through..
chrome seems much better at dealing with overloaded web servers then IE8
I just want to make sure nothing is wrong on my end......This http://entry.ffxiv.com/busy/ is the only page I've loaded from clicking on 'apply for open beta test' link.

That is correct unless you still have pages past that part until the server went to hell.
Any word on how long it is going to be in this "busy" mode? The other servers, like account management seem to be working now much better from what i can tell, but we are still busy.
wtf is going on......this page loads instantly everytime......it there was server traffic, it owuld take time to try and load the actual page I'm supposed to go to....then redirect me here....not every time instantly here http://entry.ffxiv.com/busy/
same been trying to get to the resend e-mail again and it's impossible!

Well this is all very disappointing. It would appear that someone didn't think to contract additional server capacity for this little event. Didn't even think to create some kind a a queuing system. Very shortsighted. Hopefully they are better at writing games than managing networks and servers.

Yup it is very poor planning and dumb on there part why on earth could they not have let fileplanet or another gaming site handle there reg and key give out.
I personally think this is exactly what they were going for. This way they get a dry run of release day and get to mess with all the settings and fine tune stuff. Could it be poor planning? sure it could, but I think they knew what they were doing.
Hmm as long it worked I was able to somehow get a key anyway it was unable to send it. After that it insists that I got a key and when I try tos end it, the system says that it was not able to because of an error, funny times *smiles*
Well, if they were going for a test of their login server capacity and more generally their network capacity, then I would say that today's test was very effective and that it is clear that they are not ready for release day when everybody who has preordered will be trying to register their box codes and login.
Well in the other case you must consider game delivery time, it is not like we have at a start all the game in the Hand at the same moment add to that the fact that not all have a Collector Edition.

Sorry, Sleepy.
Registering a key and trying to get a key is two different things.

Thats the catch though...
What if tomorrow morning they have run out of the allotted number of keys they planned to give out on day 1 of OB?
