client download issues

in Final Fantasy XIV

I went through all the steps, registered my code, went to download the client which went fine. however, when i install, which goes fine as well, and run it, it always crashes and shuts down. Anyone have any idea why these keeps happening?

    have you defragmented lately?  are your drivers up to date?  can your system handle the load of ff14?  these are all questions you should delve into!

     This is my experience has NEVER solved anything. It's an answer thrown by people who have no clue how to help people.

     

    And sadly I'd like to help myself, but I've downloaded and installed the client downloader, but when I start it, I get terrible download speed (upload is through the roof though) and eventually it times out. I only got 25% on the first part (out of 6) in 4 days.
