Hello guys,
Just tried the beta today and I can't beleive what I saw. My computer is the following:
CPU: Intel i5 2,66Ghz (4cpus)
Graphic card: Nvidia gtx 285
Ram: 4gb DDR3
OS: Windows 7 64Bit
I was getting around 5-8 FPS with graphics almost maxed (shadows just in high, not highest).
I also run the benchmark after that, and in High I only got a score of 1700.
How the hell do they want people to play this game when with a computer like the one I have I can't play in high graphics??

Play it in low graphics.
Then complain if the graphics look bad despite the power of your computer.
"High graphics" and "low graphics" are only terms used to describe graphic quality relative to what the game is capable of. The game might look much better with "low graphics" than many other games with "high graphics". You don't know unless you test.
There's no doubt the game runs horrid where graphics optimization is concerned.

Turn off Ambient occulation
Turn off Depth of field
Put everything else on high/highest cept for AA (mines on 2x and it runs smooth, anything higher tends to create lag)
and im playing smooth, with those settings
Ambient occulation and Depth of field just cause problems, they didnt even make my game look better either

Umm... I have a worse graphics card than you and I am playing with everything turned on high except shadows as well...with ambient occlusion and depth of field. My FPS ranges from 35-45, around there. By the way I have:
Nvidia GeForce GTS 250
4GB DDR3
To top the cake; Windows Vista
I think it could be your processor cause I have worse specs than you in that regard. To play this game at max settings running proficiently you need a quadcore processor. Almost certain, check the website for recommended specs. Also if you do have a quadcore processor you may just want to do a computer wipe; save the data you want--just start over new. That's what I did and my computer has never been faster, plus the game runs better than it did in CB.
Just to let people know it seems if the server is heavily full your fps will suffer too.
During night when of 12 (?) servers only 2-4 were middle the rest full my fps dropped from around 40-50 in open field to 15-30.
Plus 4 gb is not much (It's the recommended as far as I know) if you want to play it with everything high.

all 3 of my friends have tryed the game with ambient occulation on and they also lag. Soon as they take it off the game is smooth
We tryed checking difference in graphics with Ambient and without it and there was little to no difference
I swear on my life I am not lying. I really am playing the game without any 3rd party game boosting program that well. I don't understand why everyone is having such a problem with this game! I honestly am not lying. You can look at the screenshots I've taken, that's what my game looks like and I don't have any FPS problems. None at all.
What kind of processor you got MisterSr? I'm running with a Q6600, same graphics card, and 4 gigs of ddr 800 ram, and even on medium settings I still get the hitching. According to MSI Afterburner, I'm at around 30-35 fps out in the fields, and around 20-25 in town, but the hitching is what really is the issue. I don't have shadows on, nor ambient occlusion, and depth of field. Also, is your vista 64 bit or 32 bit? And what version of vista?
Truely sorry then to have disbelieved you. Well I got mine to run on the settings I wanted so Im happy :P I guess all those that are having problems need to just fiddle around and see whats causing the problems (I do this in most games and there are certain settings that arnt worth the amount of power they take compared to what graphical output you get out of it)

It's funny i'm actually surprised this game runs decently on my comp.
I only have a 3.6 single core, 2 gb ram, and 768 mb video card. I'm not saying its amazing but it is actually better than I expected. I'm playing on medium settings.
Hello guys. I am in a real trouble. The game doesnt run well on my computer, most times choppy and low fps intown and outside 15-20. And i dont know how to improve my pc:

The game's engine is highly lacking in the optimization department. You either have to play it on very low settings or have a 2010 gen computer. Aka, i7 CPU, 460+ series Nvidia, 4GB RAM+.... The game runs like shit. It'll probably get patched later; once they get around to fixing the fuck ton of shit wrong with it currently.
As for the above poster, RAM would actually do very little for you. It's going to be mainly your GPU and CPU. I suggest just not spending 300-500$ to play this game. Set it aside and wait a few months for it to get optimized to run on something not powered by the sun.

All maxed except ambient occlusion, wich is off
Game plays fine without problems on my side, and im almost able to turn on AO, but game become a little not so smooth, so i let it off.
Any one know for sure if game use crossfire? I saw on the last ati drivers notes that they fixed a bug with ffxiv and crossfire, but in this forums always saw it didnt use it
