Does it work?  - If so, how do I enable it?

    1. Plug it in to a free USB slot.

    2. Windows should automatically install drivers for it. Or, you can manually do a Windows Update, which will install drivers for it. Or, you can download and install drivers from microsoft.com/hardware/downloads.

    3. Launch FFXIV Config program and configure your gamepad.

    4. ???

    5. Profit

ON  aside note.. if you use a wireless one, you need to buy the wireless gaming reciever.

Most places sadly don't carry those. I went to Best Buy to get mine, but that was years ago. When I went there the other day, they told me they don't carry them anymore.

You'll probably be better off finding one of the net to buy. :|

As far as the drivers go, Windows didn't seem to want to install those for me. I had to go to Microsoft's driver website to pick those up.

Does anyone know if you can use the gamepad and keyboard and mouse? (all three)

They lie, I was told the same exact thing, but I ended up wandering around looking for it anyways.. Wasn't near the 360's, was hidden near regular PC controllers.

I believe they discontinued the receiver by itself. I got mine in a "wireless 360 controller for windows" package.

Anyone got know why my 'config utility' is in Japanese, and wont run?

Using the XBox 360 controller with the game doesn't disable the mouse/keyboard, so you are ok there. Occassionally, I one hand the controller during combat so I can use the key pad to launch skills or the mouse for manual targeting. Since you don't have to run around much in FFXIV combat, that works.

I haven't played it yet, but from what I read, it's very similar to FFXI controls where you can use all three.

Open config utility, there's a pull down menu. Select your language.

Got my controller yesterday, made a whole lot difference playing with one.

just to let u know if your using a wireless XBOX360 controller , and you have the charge cable u plug in the back then plug into your xbox to recharge , that also works as a mains cable .. and the controller will install as a wired , and it works perfect.

and the same goes for the ps3 controllers with the recharge cable.

I have two X360 controllers for Windows (the ones with cables) that I tried alternatively to play FF XIV at first.

But on both of them, the crosshair was messy. On one it keeps hitting "right" everytime I push it down; the other would go "up" everytime I tried to go left. (checked shortcuts and all, it's not that)

However my PS3 Sixaxis crosshair works like a charm with MotionInJoy. The PS3 crosshair does in all cases feel much more precise and easy to use than the X360, ergonomically.

So is it just me, or are X360 crosshair buttons just plain bad quality?
