How do you lvl a fricken Disciple of the Hand?

NadriellNadriell Member UncommonPosts: 197

So i got my lovely  archer lvled up and setting pretty where i want him. now i want to get him so gear!!!

I made a leathercrafter but i have 1. no weapons. 2. no Leves, and no way to lvl this craft... the 1 leve i did get in Gran. epic failed.  this is super frustrating

I cannot equip him with a weapon or it changes his class entirely,

any pointers on getting started in this disciple?

I'm just guessing on this, because I haven't done any crafting myself but if you go to the Adventurer's Guild or the Inn, depending on the starting city, there is an NPC (usually behind the counter) that gives out leves. I only did the combat ones, I believe that there are others for gatherers and crafters.

You can throw rocks at the mobs until you get money to buy botony tools.  With botony tools you level botony to get your items to level Alchemy.

Pretty much pointless  to start with a harvesting or a crafting class because you need to kill stuff to get money for the other class tools.  Your best to start with a fighter/mage, kill a couple mobs, but the other profession tools, then level the other professions.

This is completely incorrect.  The starting quest can be done with the harvesting or crafter.

After doing the starting quest you should have somewhere around 30k gil.  You can buy the weapons for any crafter or gatherer disciplines from NPC's in the market area.  If you bought every primary and secondary tool for all the disciplines you only spend about 15k.

You can do the levee quests early.  It may succeed, it may not.  When I was starting out, I succeeded about 75% of the time.  Also, you can just create items and get xp that way.

You're supposed to change classes entirely. Archers can't craft...

You can level with a gathering class and make money easy with them, i got a miner to level 12 realitively easy. You cant hoever start with a disciple of the hand class.. i think it is impossible to level them up at the start, they are expensive, and crafting itself is very very VERY confusing.

I really hope they change the crafting system, if they want players to run the economy, i dont know what the hell im doing wheni craft, and it frustrats the heck out of me.

You can get local levequests for Disciples of the hand.  So you can level them a bit. The person is right beside the one who gives the other levequests in the Adventurers guild in LL.

The part I got stuck on was with the Blacksmith. I did all the local levequests but can't get any Guildmarks. I need guildmarks to buy smelting, 5000 of them.

I need smelting to level Blacksmithing because I don't think you can make anything with the ore unless you smelt it first.
