Ask yourself, what score you have?
It give you the true summary of what FFonline game is. FFXIV isn't for everyone as SE stated, this game is delicated for FFXI fan more. Don't pass your judgement before hand. Not only you are becoming a Troll to us delicated gamers you are just wasting your time.

Meh. I'll pass for now. I'm sure I'll end up trying it down the road, hopefully it leaves a better taste than the current state of the game.

Final Fantasy VI (3 in the US) Is prolly my fav RPG of all time (well 2nd Chrono Trigger is first, another square title). The very first final fantasy I pretty much grew up on as a kid... Played it all the time, once i beat it i'd select a new party of 4 and play through again. I'll always have place for Final Fantasy.
However this, much like the other FF online just isn't my cup of tea. It honestly drove me to utter bordem. And one cant say i just don't like challanges or grouping or grinding or need my hand held through a mmo"
EQ1 was my first MMO I had nights grinding exp in the overthere with a group of friends hours on end til i was about to fall asleep at the keyboard. A game that told you nothing when you first rolled your character. No maps, no guides, nothing. Corpse runs from hell... Sometimes taking hours or even into the next day just to get my gear off my corpse. I've been there.
I just don't think Square is a good MMO developer. I guess that's what it comes down to. Clunky UI, clunky controlls (for both games) I don't feel into the world or the game at all. It Just doesn't have it like other mmos or have it like sqaures single player games.

Questions 1, 2 and 5 are pretty much the same worded a bit differently. 3 is a reasonable fair question. 4 is the same as for any major new release.
Let me paraphrase the questions for those that don't want to follow the link and read them all:
1) Do you love FF (lore / franchise)?
2) Do you love FF (played the previous version)?
3) Are you a casual gamer?
4) Do you have good hardware?
5) Do you love FF (want to love it)?
If you don't love FF, you can only get 2 out of 5. How, by any stretch of imagination, can this "...hit the target right on."?
I will gladly dispute the author of the post for question 5. The world is not black and white...there are plenty of people (myself included) that exist with the multitude of shading that is reality.
I actually got into Alpha. It was a game I actually had high hopes for (I actually have it pre-ordered, but I do intend to shift the pre-order to a different game), but I found that it really wasn't to my liking for a wide variety of reasons. I am patient enough to ignore the pain of the download and installation. I took my time figuring out the rather unusual control scheme. But it didn't resonate with me at any level.
I don't hate the game. I'm sure that many people will enjoy it. It is one of many that just doesn't work for me...another aspect of not living in a black and white world...
5/5. Probably why I am enjoying the game so much. The guy may be on to something.

Let me offer an analogy, since we are so fond of them here at MMORPG.com...
Are you a fan of the Star Wars franchise?
Did you watch Episodes 4, 5, & 6?
Do you prefer to see movies in the cinema?
Can you afford a ticket and get to the theater?
Do you want to like the Phantom Menace?
You could get a 5/5 and still not be prepared for Jar Jar...
...the fanbois are annoying as the trolls, unfortunately. It is an actual form of trolling in of itself.
Person A dislikes the game.
Person B likes the game.
Do you see more of Person A saying Person B needs to shut up or more of Person B telling Person A to shut up?
There...you find your trolling...with Person B.
If you want to counter Person A that you believe is trolling, you can either counter their observations and remarks by stating that they come down to a personal preference or that they are wrong. You can point out the good things about the game. Etc, etc, etc...
Crying that somebody does not like your favorite game...is just sad.
By the way, I got a 1/5... never played any of the FF games - enjoy the anime and the music though - the games have never held any attraction though.

IMO, if you love FF, then you're probably going to hate the PC version of FFXIV. It's a console port and, unless you have a shiny new high-end PC (with a widescreen monitor), you're going to have a ton of problems.
Heck, I have a decent PC and there were still things about the game that put me off. There are just some things that console developers don't get about the PC, which can be really irritating.
Oh, and the music isn't very good (compared to previous FF games).
2/5 here, and I don't plan on playing it, but more for what it lacks, (solid PVP model) rather than what it has.

I dont think any sane mind could actually think this game was going to have a PvP model period, let alone a solid one.
1/5 here. Last time I played the game it crashed when I tried to talk to a NPC. Real mmos are comming next year so why waste money on this?
100% serious. wtf are u doing in game? And dont say crafting.
I got 2/5 and I just put in my pre-order today. Been around for closed beta, now playing open and still enjoying myself. For me, it's a nice change of things.

Japanese can't make games anymore. Time to stick to Western games =( (TERA PLEASE SAVE US...AND GUILD WARS).
I like FF games up to 9 and then after that they sucked and this game is no different.
