How do you learn new skills

in Final Fantasy XIV

Sorry for this newbie question, but I have been looking everywhere in the menues and haven't been able to find any new skills. I am now rank 4, but havn't gotten any new skills. Do I need to train them somewhere or am I just too impatient, and have to wait for a bit before I receive new skills?

    Open up your abilities window, if memory serves it is the second one.  Up in the top right corner, there is a drop down box, that is blank.  Click on that, and select your class in there.  All the abilities you have learned to this point will be listed there.  From there, just set them up on whatever button you want, and you should be good to go.

    Yeah, took me a while to find it as well. -_-;;
