As a FTP player, how much of a disadvantage am I going to be at? Is there a list of features etc that are available/off-limts to FTP players? Also, is it possible to make RL money by selling LoTR items on eBay or other sites? Thanks!

Here is a link to the VIP/Premium/Free2Play bonuses/restrictions.

Keep in mind, the chart is a little old - I know that they have changed it from 1 to 2 characters for a Free account for instance.
To get Premium, you need to have spent real money on the game at some point. You can buy a boxed product, game card, or Turbine Points. Even the smallest denomination of TP will give you Premium, and that seems to have a number of important benefits over Free (some of which are not even listed on the chart).
One important thing that is missing from that chart is what content is included at what level. Free and Premium are apparently missing quite a bit of the level 1-50 (original game) content, which needs to be purchased using TP to access. VIP's who drop to Premium lose the ability to gain quests in these areas as well. Everyone needs to purchase (or have previously purchased) the expansions in order to access them. A VIP who never bought Mines of Moria still has to purchase it to access it for example.
And no you can not make RL money, Turbine frowns on ebay and any account/character/item trade.
As a free/premium player you will not have access to: Rested xp, Destiny points, monter play. And you cant buy them from the store, almost everything else can be bought with Turbine points which you either buy or grind for.
If you dont want to spend any money at all you will be at a huge disadvantage, if you dont enjoy grinding like crazy
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
There are more, swift travel for example is a time limited buff for non VIPs afaik, also you have lower server priority incase of queues, which could be downright aweful depending how this works out. For example if your a free player and there are lots of premiums(everyone who ever had a LotRO account, i.e. lots) and the servers are at their limit you might very well be unable to log in at all because your place in the queue keeps getting taken by premiums and VIPS etc.
Oh yeah and the chat/auction limits. You may partly get around some of them, but certain limits like restrictions about to how many people you can whisper at once, or how many posts in a open channel you can make in succession is afaik hardcoded into your account status aswell(i.e. everything that was done to limit goldfarmers ability to ruin our lives with free accounts, would be kinda pointless if you could get around those with a couple selfearned TPs).
All MMO's do, but it's still possible to do. I meant more along the lines of feasibility, not if it's "game legal."
most of the great items are account/toon bound so you wont have much luck selling junk out of game... its the same as in DDO.
You get free points to spend in the shop by doing Deeds. Now I thought this was a bit off at first because there wernt a great deal of deeds.
But i've recently subbed for a month and I'm gobsmacked at how many deeds there are now! And more coming with F2P.
As for selling items, well not really not, crafted items are just as good sometimes better and the best weapons are legendary weapons which you have to level up yourself.
