The Rift: Planes of Telara team has sent out five new screenshots of the Stonefield zone. Stonefield is an area filled with trolls, skeletons and other undead, and more. Check out these screens in our Rift: Planes of Telara gallery and a teensy bit of lore to go with them.

Transcript from the lectures of Haru Windsworn, Master of Bahmi Studies in Meridian

“Today, we are honored by the presence of Bora Temurgal, Ascended reaver of the Red Sun tribe. As you can plainly see, the Bahmi emblazon themselves with narrative tattoos called ‘sefir.’ Unlike Mathosians, bragging around their campfires, the stoic Bahmi save their breath by writing their exploits on their flesh. Here is a particularly rousing tale that stretches from First Hunter Temurgal’s lower biceps to loop around her wrist. Definitely looking forward to this game. It looks good and I like the soul system, giving the ability to mix and match traits. The dynamic rifts and their moving NPC army looks very interesting and intriguing. I am looking forward to fighting against them and in some instances, fighting with them.

Gaming since Avalon Hill was making board games.

Played SWG, EVE, Fallen Earth, LOTRO, Rift, Vanguard, WoW, SWTOR, TSW, Tera
Tried Aoc, Aion, EQII, RoM, Vindictus, Darkfail, DDO, GW, PotBS

Hmm you posted this news twice - http://www.mmorpg.com/newsroom.cfm/read/17977/Stonefield-Zone-Preview.html is the one from yesterday. :)

Looking forward to this game, though, of course.  Want to know more information about the dynamic elements.

    Ningen wa ningen da.

I wasn't anticipating this too much until fairly recently, since I prefer to avoid forming an opinion on any new MMOs without extensive research, but these screenshots are doing their job: they're reeling me in. The game looks gorgeous, almost an odd mix of what Midgard in Dark Age of Camelot looked like in some areas, and the battle system is especially enticing.  If this game is half as attractive at open beta/live release as it is now, I'll be abandoning my 5 year love affair with World of Warcraft for the Planes of Telara. <3
