Patcher Timing Out

MisterSrMisterSr Member UncommonPosts: 928

So my patcher keeps timing out because SE decided that a torrent downloading system would be so much better than a regular downloading/patching system, so now I am here unable to get a download for the game. Is there a way to work around this? like a website I can download the patch on or something.

talking about one hyped up game.......all over the forum people are saying that they cant ever patch or download.....how good can the game be if the devs cant even write a decent patcher for crying out loud.

i my opinion this game fails big time.....i just hope it can keep its fans happy.

There is an issue with some patches where players gets stuck at 94.6%. Which patch are you trying to download? Or simply google "FFXIV download [insert patch name here]" and it should work.

There's another way to download it if you have a BitTorrent or Utorrent client(or whatever you use). Under C:UsersDocuments[your name or whatever you used here]My DocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-beta

There's 2 folders in the ffxiv-beta folder. bca2a8ae and d96437e6. Both contains a metainfo folder and a patch folder. Find the torrent you are trying to download in the bca2a8aemetainfo and open it. Save the file to bca2a8aepatch. Once it's done, run the FFXIV updater and it should install the files (instead of downloading them). If there's another patch after, do the same with it (though this time it might be a d9437e6metafile torrent.)

    Hope this helps.

You can also use another torrent to download the file, takes like 15 seconds, then just copy the download into the patch directory and run the ffxiv downloader again and it will install. no need for outside links/uploads. just get utorret or bittorrent.

Madness gave you the directories above, just make sure you delete the file from the patch folder before torrenting the one in metafile and copying it to patch.

Yeah last night megauploader worked great, but this morning it says it has malware. So not so great anymore, so maybe I will try this.

The torrent has the directory info with it (the b-patch or d-patch) so you only need to download the contents to C:Users...ffxiv-beta rather then worry about whether it goes into the b-patch or the d-patch.

If you knew anything about computers you could have had it working by the time you wrote up that post.

So much for not being arsed.
